How Arica & Kyle Met
Arica and Kyle met organically and unexpectedly one night at J&A Tap in North Liberty. Arica went out to dinner that night with Randi and Bri. They decided to walk over to J&A after dinner to enjoy some live music. Kyle reluctantly agreed to hang out with his cousin Jake and friend TJ, and they ended up at J&A.
If you ask Kyle, he noticed Arica right away. If you ask Arica, she was too busy chatting with her friends to notice Kyle.
Due to Kyle's apprehension to approach Arica, Jake took the reins by cracking a joke with Arica and her friends. It wasn't long before HIS table and HER table became one table.
It still took a little nudging from Kyle's friends, but eventually TJ pushed Kyle into the booth next to Arica.
Arica and Kyle felt an immediate connection and finally started talking.
The Proposal
Christmas morning 2023 was a special one with Kyle getting down on one knee with the three kids as witnesses.
Kyle picked the ring out on his own during a lunch break a few months earlier and made arrangements to meet with Arica's dad's to get his blessing.
Kyle had one-on-one conversations with both of his daughters, Kacie and Sydney, to get their blessings. Dawson had been hounding Kyle for months to propose to his mom so he already knew he had his approval. He wanted the girls to be involved in the proposal so he asked what they thought about popping the question on Christmas. He knew Dawson would likely spill the beans to his mom so he kept it a surprise for him too. Kacie wrapped all of the boxes/gifts associated with the proposal. Both the girls captured it all on video, including Dawson's reaction!
It didn't cross Arica's mind for one second that Kyle would propose on Christmas. In fact, she knew he had planned a getaway for the weekend after Christmas, so she was sure it would happen then. She loves that he decided to include the kids in it and will cherish the moment forever.

-We both love spending time with family
-We both love to workout and now workout together at 5am :)
