Q + A

Is there a dress code?

"Business casual" is fine! We don't want people to feel pressured to wear something fit for a black tie dinner, just something nice that you feel great in and don't mind wearing while walking down a short dirt path or asphalt.

Where can we park for the ceremony?

There is parking for the botanical garden next to the redwood grove, visible on the map linked under "Venues." We have limited reserved parking for family from out of town so if those spaces are not available you may need to pay for metered parking in the unreserved spots, or park up the road at Lawrence Hall of Science. Please look at the "Logistics" page to see where to park at the Lawrence Hall of Science and where to expect our shuttle to take you down to the redwood grove. Please arrive between 1:20 and 1:45 to take the shuttle down. There are also parking garages at the Stadium Parking Garage (2175 Gayley Road) and Upper Hearst Structure (2701 Hearst Ave) from which you would need to hire a rideshare to go up the hill to the garden.

Is the reception at the garden?

Catering and reservations for the reception hall at the garden were outside of our budget, so we are hosting a dinner following the ceremony at Bistro Boudin in Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco.

Where do we park for the reception?

You can park at the Fisherman's wharf parking lot, and Bistro Boudin will offer validated parking for up to 2 hours. You should avoid leaving anything visible in your vehicle, especially bags. If you would prefer to avoid using the lot at Fisherman's Wharf you can use the Spot Hero app to find local parking behind a gate at nearby lots. It may be a way to secure your parking for the day instead of depending on public parking availability.

Can I bring a +1?

Unless you have been explicitly told you can, you cannot bring a +1. We are limited to 30 people for the Reception due to fire code/physical space limitations. Please don't show up with extra people and make it awkward for everyone.

Where is the Reception?

The Reception is located in San Francisco, near the coast at Fisherman's Wharf. You will need to cross a toll bridge-- if you don't have FasTrak then don't worry, cameras will automatically take a picture of your license plate and mail you a bill. Bistro Boudin is a 2 story building. We are going to the second floor, called the "Private Dining Room." You can say you're there for the wedding and staff should show you the way, there's no guest list.

What if it rains?

It might. I have rented clear umbrellas for everyone, so you can grab one as you enter the Redwood Grove.
