As all good modern love stories seem to begin, Adam and Ariel met on the lawless frontier of internet dating - Hinge to be exact. Each exhausted from months of lackluster first dates there was something immediately apparent that this felt different. After several weeks of just texting and talking they finally got around to their first date. September 24th, 2021 started with a glass of wine on the couch and a well-timed FaceTime call from Adam’s friend to assure Ariel that he is a gentleman and not a serial killer (thanks, Kevin). The night was an adventure full of Mexican food and a picnic dinner in Laurelhurst Park.

Jovial conversations and deep discussions on life led to a bold proposition that resulted in an impromptu sleepover (nothing happened, Joe, we swear) and a road trip starting at dawn the next day. Ariel remarkably had agreed to join Adam on a dire mission to take his friends’ truck (thanks, Naveen and Kayla) on a drive to central Oregon to retrieve a set of winter wheels and tires for his car. Adam, Ariel, and Charlie the dog ended up having an unforgettable day of scream-singing country music in the car, walking along the river in Bend, and schlepping winter tires around the state.

Ariel handled the news gracefully when Adam chimed in with the fact that they needed to drop the wheels off in Hood River at his mom’s house but she “probably won’t even be there” (she was, and thanks for the cookies, Marla). After one more evening of laughing, hanging out and eating pizza, the 48 hour long first date finally came to a close. Fast forward almost two years later and they have been so lucky to share such incredible memories and milestones with their amazing family and friends. Now it’s time to get everyone together to celebrate a wedding for two goofy lovebirds.
