The first time I met Ariel we were children on a playground during recess in kindergarten. Little did I know then that she would become the love of my life. Our story truly starts in high school. We were both in the band and often crossed paths. Gradually I felt more pulled to her until I eventually worked up the courage to ask her to date me. It’s funny how a small high school crush can be the seed of a blossoming partnership. At the start it hadn’t yet crossed my mind that this would become the most important and joyous part of my life. As we’ve grown together we have faced challenges but nonetheless we were able to pull through and work with one another to better ourselves as a team. On September 25th 2022, I proposed to Ariel and I haven’t looked back since. We moved in with each other in August of 2023, and life has been quite the ride planning a wedding and going to college all at the same time. There’s no other way that I’d like to live though. We’re excited for our future together and all of the things coming our way. I love you Ariel.
Jacob and I have always ‘known’ each other. We lived in the same neighborhood growing up and always attended the same schools. I can’t say I truly met Jacob until high school though. We were both in the band and fell into similar crowds. I remember a particular day, sophomore year, when I was hanging out with some friends in the theater dressing room. At one point or another Jacob came in, we talked a little, and I remember thinking that he was cute because he had blonde hair and glasses. It’s funny how an interaction so casual can flourish into the backbone of your life. From there, we built our relationship in typical high school fashion, hanging out in groups of mutual friends, eating lunch together, and running around the hockey arena at pep band. By junior year we were extremely close and by senior year we were a team. Moving on from high school was a challenge for us, but somewhere in the back of my mind I always knew that we would end up in the same place. We loved each other too much for anything to come before our life together. I feel extraordinarily grateful to have someone in my life who supports me in all my dreams and lifts me up in all aspects of life. It’s needless to say that men like Jacob are hard to come by. In September of 2022 we got engaged at the Stone Arch Bridge after eating breakfast at our favorite restaurant, and in August of 2023 we got our first apartment together. Life has been non-stop, but we couldn’t be happier to have the opportunity to grow together and we can’t wait for what our future holds.
