Does the resort have a dress code?
Yes, there are dress code requirements for men when attending dinner at resort restaurants. Men are REQUIRED to wear long pants and closed toe shoes for dinner at the following restaurants: Portofino, Himitsu, Bordeaux, and El Patio. There are two outdoor dining options for dinner, Seaside Grill and Oceana, which allow men to wear shorts. Men's shirts must have sleeves regardless of indoor/outdoor dining at dinner time.

There is 24/7 complimentary room service available. Room service can be ordered by phone or on the tablet provided in each room.
Sea Turtles?
Yes!!! "Akumal" translates to "Place of Turtles", which is fitting given that the resort's waters are frequently visited by endangered green sea turtles who swim up to the bay and feed on sea grass.
You are allowed to swim with the sea turtles for free at any time during your stay at the resort. We recommend you bring your own full face snorkel (can be purchased on Amazon) to hang out with these beautiful creatures.
do i need a beach towel?
No, save the room in your suitcase! Beach/pool towels are located throughout the pool area and there are plenty for everyone.
do i have to be up at 5 am to reserve a spot on the beach?
Not necessarily - If you're not an early bird and want to get your beauty sleep knowing that there is a place for you on the beach, you can reserve a bali bed for an additional charge ranging from $55 to $75 USD per day. What if I'm looking to party during the day?
You're in luck! The pool closest to the beach has a swim up bar where activities take place during the day (macarena dancing contest, foam party, karaoke, cannon ball contest, etc.)

Don't worry! There is a quiet pool located on the resort especially designed for those looking to relax and unwind peacefully.
