Lookout Mountain is technically in GA, but we stay in the lower side of Chattanooga which is about 6-miles away. When planning lodging, there are lots of hotels and airbnbs nearby!
Please plan to pay for your own admission for a ticket to the Rock City Gardens attraction (website has accurate to date pricing)
The staff said it can take about 1.5 hrs to walk up the main trail, however there is an ADA accessible option they say takes only 10-15 minutes to get up to the top allowing access to both Lovers Leap and The 7-States Pavilion.
We are planning to get eloped on Lookout Mountain inside the “See Rock City” park.
There will be no seating as we are doing a “fly by the seat of our pants” style elopement so any attending guests should plan to be at the designated area by the start of our ceremony and expect to gather nearby without any place to sit.
The vows ceremony will take place at 3 o’clock at the “Lovers Leap” bypass along the Rock City Garden trail. All guests please plan to walk with us up to The Seven-States Pavilion area immediately following the ceremony to take pictures. (IF THE NUMBER OF RSVP’s BECOME TOO MANY, WE PLAN TO MOVE THE ENTIRE VOW CEREMONY TO THE SEVEN STATES PAVILION FOR MORE SPACE! We will update everyone who RSVP’s closer to the date for the official plan)
We ask that all of our guests arrive to the designated location earlier than the Bride & Groom and plan timing accordingly as they may want to enjoy the trails in Rock City we encourage everyone to arrive in the park at least 1.5 or so hrs before the set 3 PM ceremony so no one misses out!
Please remember we didn’t reserve the park so it is open to the public while we elope.
Tentative Plan:
Plan to meet with the Minister nearing the 3 PM mark - Bridal party and Groomsmen party will come up ADA trail separately and after vows plan to do family/friends group photos - bride / groom will walk back down the trail with videographers. Later that evening friends and family can join in going out to eat at a TBD restaurant together or part ways.
