Our Love Story began Summer 2021 on a Tuesday afternoon at La Parilla Mexican Bar. Tyler didn’t work on Tuesdays, so he regularly enjoyed the laid back atmosphere and chance to unwind with dinner and a drink. Ariel, on the other hand, had been a frequent visitor of the bar but always on different days, never suspecting that today would be the day their paths would finally cross.

Ariel stopped by La Parilla after work to grab a drink. Tyler was already sitting at the bar waiting to check out. When Ariel walked in she instantly caught his eye. She sat on the other side of the bar directly across from him. Ariel saw Tyler staring and she waved and smiled. Tyler thought to himself, “There is no way I’m leaving this restaurant without saying something to her”. Tyler paid his ticket and walked over to Ariel and introduced himself. Through conversation, Ariel discovered Tyler was a few years younger than her. She didn’t usually go for younger guys. Hence, she wrote him off in her head and didn’t think there would be a future for them. However, they exchanged numbers and as soon as Tyler left, a stranger sitting next to Ariel told her “Your future husband is on the way”. This always stuck with Ariel because at the time, she had no clue she already met him.

Over the next few weeks, they exchanged texts, with Tyler maintaining consistency without being pushy. Eventually, they spoke over the phone via FaceTime and talked for hours. They finally made plans to meet up again, and Ariel decided to give it a chance— after all, there was something refreshing about their connection that felt easy and natural.

When they met up again, the spark was strong, their banter was effortless, and their connection was undeniable. They began spending every weekend together and eventually introduced each other to family and friends.

Fast forward, they became a couple and their bond grew into a beautiful love story. Their relationship was built on friendship. On their anniversary weekend in October 2024, Tyler proposed at the Botanical Gardens in front of a beautiful fountain. He followed it up with a surprise engagement dinner with both their families present.

Together, we’ve discovered that life is so much better in this partnership. Join us this Summer as we say “I do” and kick off the next phase of our life together.
