Adam & I both grew up in Wisconsin about an hour away from each other. Throughout our lives, we actually had been to the same places, & even some events at the exact same time. Our journeys have been so different, yet parallel to each other, waiting for the perfect moment to cross paths. It's no secret that Adam & I had both been through some tough situations, but God'a plan & timing is always perfect.
Adam & I met on a dating site. When I first saw his profile, I realized Adam was very particular & clear on what he was looking for in his profile. His profile stated he didn't like cats & that it was a deal breaker. I was a single Mom with 3 cats, call me crazy but I decided to write him anyway. I'm so happy that I did because, clearly, cats were not a deal breaker. Adam told me from that very first conversation that I was his "dream girl." Everyone who knows Adam knows this man is a smooth talker, but one thing I can tell you is Adam truly finds me beautiful & he reminds me of that all the time. Maybe it was the smile or his sense of humor, but he convinced me to let him take me out on a date.
We officially met on February 4th, 2018. Adam took me to dinner where we met Kesha's (the singer), biggest fan. He was our waiter. He was telling us all about his love for Kesha, and he made the comment what a cute couple we made. Adam, being Adam, asked him how long he thought we had been together. The waiter said, "The way you two look at each other, I would say at least 4 years." He was a little stunned to find out it was our first date, but he told us he had a good feeling about us & and that we were going to make it. Call it fate, or maybe he should play the lottery, but that kesha fan was correct.
After dinner, we went and raced go carts. Adam & I are both competitive people. Since it was the first date, I let him win that race. However, when we played the arcade games, I showed no mercy. I think we all know who won there, & if he ever tells you otherwise well, I'd be happy to remind him by kicking his butt again. After that night, we really were inseparable & I just knew this was something very special.
Not long after, Adam met my daughter Aubriella. We took things slow, but those two honestly had an instant bond. Those who may not know Aubriella had just turned one when we had met. From the very beginning, we always called Adam by his name to Aubriella. Well, Aubriella must have known from the start because she started calling him "Dada." It didn't matter if we tried to correct her. He was her "Dada. " It was like she hand-picked him to be her Dad. Adam stepped up when he didn't have to & and sacrificed so much for us. He is the greatest father to Aubriella. We feel so blessed that he's her Daddy.
The day I fell in love with Adam is a moment I will never forget. Adam & I both share a passion for music. Whether it's going to concerts, musicals, or singing in the car. If you know Adam you know that man gives concerts. Car ride jam sessions became our thing. On one of our dates, we were riding down the backroads of Fall Creek. Suddenly, one of the greatest songs to ever live came on... Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. This epic jam was a staple in my home growing up. My parents made sure I knew the classics. I looked over at Adam, waiting to see what he would do, and to no surprise, the man rocked out hard core to that song. The sun was starting to set, the backroads were beautiful, & we were both just laughing & rocking out to "Oh, mamma mia, mamma mia Mamma mia, let me go. " I looked over at Adam, and I just knew that's my person. This man is my soul mate. I didn't care what life threw our way. I love him & I want to do life with him.
Adam asked me to spend forever with him on October 18th, 2023, in front of my family. We were on a family Disney trip & we were at the Cinderella's wishing well in front of the castle at Magic Kingdom. It was truly a magical moment. He also gave Aubriella a ring as Adam will be adopting Aubriella after we are married. Disney has always been a place full of wonderful memories for me, but now it holds an extra special place in my heart. We will forever cherish that moment when I said, "Yes!"
Adam is my best friend. Even after 6 years of being together, I still get butterflies. I love this man with all my heart and soul.
God had a plan, & even though our paths took a while to finally come together, there is no one I'd rather do life with. The road may not always be easy. In fact, we have been through some trials. These moments, though what matters most, are how you get through them together. We both have chosen to love each other unconditionally. We give each other grace, forgiveness & allow each other to learn from our mistakes. We've grown so much together & I'm so proud of how hard we have worked to build this beautiful life we created. We both equally value each other, & we are best friends. In the words of Jack Johnson, "But I will still tell you one thing
It's always better when we're together." We wouldn't have it any other way. ❤️
