In 2022 over 366 million people worldwide used dating apps. With that being said close to 40% of married couples today have expressed meeting their significant other online. Aries and Nathan’s story starts out with a swipe right in December of 2022. Even though Aries and Nathan are only 3 years apart in age and grew up just 30 minutes from each other, they never crossed paths. However, when Nathan and Aries started talking online, they lived an hour from each other. Aries was living in the city of Hutchinson working at the hospital as a nurse. While Nathan was living in the country between Cold Spring and Avon, working road construction. They had their first date at Grizzle’s in St. Cloud and everything went amazing. Aries first thought of Nathan was “wow he is tall,” while Nathan’s first thought was “she was short and pretty.” After their first date they become inseparable.
By the start of 2023 Nathan said he knew “Aries was the one.” Nathan attempted to joke that he would tell Aries that he loved her on Valentine’s Day but accidently said Thanksgiving. The two shared a laugh and that became their inside joke. Next date? Lets do it on Thanksgiving. When do you want to meet my family? Thanksgiving sounds reasonable. Are you ever going to say you love me? Maybe on Thanksgiving. Both Nathan and Aries said “I love you” on Valentines Day in 2023, Nathan being the first to say it. The next question came from close friends, and neighbors, of Nathan… “When are you going to marry her?” To which, Nathan laughed and looked at Aries and said “Thanksgiving.” Though Thanksgiving of 2023 flew by, Aries having to work and Nathan hunting… no marriage proposal was exchanged. Not until February of 2024.
Nathan and Aries planned a mini 2-day vacation in February around Valentines Day. They decided they would drive out to Watertown, South Dakota. While in Watertown they visited the Bramble Zoo and the Redlin Art Center. After exploring the town a bit, they decided to drive out to Pelican Lake to explore the walking trails and check out the lake. While standing on the rocky beach, Aries decided to take a photo of the sunset. When she turned around Nathan was on one knee and popped the question.
Nathan and Aries ended 2022 as a new couple, grew stronger together in 2023 and 2024, as well as enjoyed being engaged. They have upgraded many aspects of their lives together, as well as added two very adventurous dogs (Buck and Red) to their family. Now in 2025 they are excited to take the next step in their lives together. Nathan and Aries are thrilled to be married and continue this crazy adventure of life. They cannot wait for their loved ones to be a part of their special day!
