It’s like we were never supposed to cross paths, but fate had its own way of letting us encounter each other. We both happened to be on the same online platform when I decided to take a chance and slide into her DMs. Luckily for me, she replied with the energy I’d hoped for. That one message began a series of endless conversations, from sharing our favorite songs to laughing over stories of our day. Each exchange felt like a doorway to a world I didn’t know I’d been searching for. Our first date came just a few days after that first conversation. I was in class, distracted, as usual, but this time it wasn’t because of the lecture, it was because of my craving for garlic shrimp. I texted her, asking if she knew a good place to get some and if she’d want to join me. She quickly recommended a spot close to her home, Guira &amp; Tambora, and we planned to meet there at 7 p.m. I was nervous, wondering what it would be like to finally see her face-to-face. Our conversations had been so natural, yet meeting in person felt like a leap into the unknown. Thankfully, we arrived almost at the same time, and the nerves melted away as soon as I saw her smile. We ordered dinner, and the garlic shrimp did not disappoint, it was as amazing as the company. From that evening on, we became inseparable. It soon became routine for her to come over to my place after work or school, and as time went on, she began staying over almost every night. My home, once a place just for me, started to feel like our shared space. We’d spend our evenings talking, laughing, watching movies, and sharing our dreams for the future.&nbsp; Eight months had passed, with each day drawing us closer. We shared our worlds, met each other’s families, and grew to love not only who we were but also who we were becoming together. Our Friends became fans of our story, and our families embraced our bond. From there it was clear that we had found home in each other, so I planned on proposing to her.&nbsp; I wanted the proposal to be as special as she was to me, so I planned every detail in secret, determined to surprise her in a way she’d never forget. The day began like any other, and she had no idea that by the end of the night, our lives would change forever. I started by asking her out for dinner at Sofia’s, a restaurant be had never tried before. It was risky but the restaurant met our expectations . We talked and laughed through the meal, the conversation flowing as naturally as it always did. She was completely unaware of what I had waiting for her. Every time I looked at her, I felt my heart race, knowing that tonight was the night I’d ask her to be my forever. After dinner, we returned to my place, and I casually let her walk ahead, asking her to open the bedroom door. When she pushed it open, her eyes widened, and she let out a gasp. The room was transformed into a scene from a fairytale, with balloons floating softly in the air, rose petals were scattered across the floor and bed, and the soft glow of countless candles cast a warm, romantic light over everything. There were also 5 bouquets of roses around the words “WILL YOU MARRY ME” lit up in delicate lights at the head of the bed. She turned, her eyes already glistening with emotion, and found me there on one knee, holding a ring in my hand. I looked up at her, my heart pounding as I took in her expression, a mix of surprise, joy, and love. For a moment, everything stood still. She took a breath, her hand covering her mouth, trying to stop the tears, and then she finally whispered, “Yes.” With a feeling of pure happiness, I slipped the ring onto her finger, sealing it with a kiss that seemed to make the world disappear around us. That night, we promised to share a lifetime together, and in that candlelit room, it felt like we already had.

Where to fly to ?

Donald Sangster Airport in Montego Bay and Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston are the two main airports in Jamaica. It takes around two and a half hours to drive from Norman Manley International Airport to Portland; the route via Stony Hill and Junction is highly recommended because the roads are superior that the one that passes through St. Thomas. Although the trip from Montego Bay to Portland takes much longer—roughly four hours—the roads there are often smoother and less windy than those from Kingston.   If you will be staying in Ocho Rios then it is recommended to fly to Donald Sangster Airport in Montego Bay.

The Montego Bay Airport is the best option for travelers, located approximately 1.5 hours from Ocho Rios. Your travel agent can help with all the logistics, ensuring a smooth ride to the RIU and arranging your return trip at the end of the festivities.With everything taken care of, you can relax and fully enjoy your time in Jamaica—whether you want to lounge by the pool, explore the beautiful beaches, or join in some water sports. Travel Agent Information

We will be providing transportation to the Trident Hotel in Portland for both the welcome party on June 27th, 2025, and the wedding on June 28th, 2025. The only pickup point will be from the RIU Hotel in Ocho Rios on both days. For this reason, we highly recommend that guests stay at the RIU Hotel to make transportation easier for everyone. Please note, we are only offering transportation to the Trident Hotel for these events, so make sure to arrange your own airport transfers when traveling to your hotel.

Transportation Details

After the wedding celebrations, we will be staying in Port Antonio for an extra week to enjoy some relaxation and more time with family and friends. We’re planning two fun group activities on July 2nd and July 4th 2025, and we’d love for anyone who’s interested to join us! If you'd like to participate, please let us know as soon as possible so we can finalize plans and make the necessary arrangements. Looking forward to extending the celebration with you!
