Kathryn and Arpan had crossed paths several times at Northwestern University in their various overlapping pre-medicine groups and activities. However, their paths had never quite intertwined. Until one day, Kathryn responded to a social media post of Arpan's asking if anyone wanted to last minute see an electronic music duo with him in downtown Chicago, and the rest is history.

Because of the rigors of a career in medicine and all the uncertainties that come with it, Kathryn and Arpan have been long distance for the majority of their 7 year relationship, but that hasn't slowed them down. They both know the stretch of I-90 from Minneapolis to Cleveland like the back of their hands. Frequent weekend trips make it all worth it, but there is plenty of Facetime and Netflix in between. Arpan moved to Minneapolis for one year to be with Kathryn. During that time, they adopted a snuggly, neurotic blonde tabby kitten named Jaime, who is their pride and joy.

Arpan is patient and selfless while Kathryn is passionate and loyal, and together, they strike a perfect balance. They both have a mutual love of long drives with music, watching movies, trying new restaurants and bars, going to music shows and concerts, and exploring new cities and the outdoors. This past year they've added a new kitten to the family, Loki, who loves to play with his older brother Jaime and keep his parents on their toes at all times!

On their 6th anniversary, Arpan popped the question while the two of them were spending a long weekend together, and Kathryn said yes! They are both looking forward to reuniting this summer with their closest family and friends to celebrate the start of their new lives together!
