Q + A

What is the dress code for the Anaad Karaj?

The Gurudwara does have a dress code. Out of respect, any attire (Western and Indian) must follow the dress code. This includes no cleavage, no exposed backs, no exposed legs, no bare midriffs, no ripped pants, and sleeves are required. Head coverings are also required. If you choose to wear an Indian outfit, the dupatta (scarf) is sufficient. You may also bring your own scarf or head wrap. No beanies or ball caps, please. If you do not want to wear Indian clothing, we recommend wearing a floor-length gown, pants or leggings of some sort, due to the ceremony requiring guests to sit on the floor (Indian style, hah!) for the duration of at least an hour.

What is the dress code for the reception?

We suggest that men wear suits in any colour and women wear an Indian outfit, an evening gown or midi or knee-length cocktail dress.
