What is a baraat?
A baraat is a lively wedding procession, marking the arrival of the groom at a traditional Indian wedding. There will be music, dancing and live drums, as the groom and his family and friends make their way to the venue entrance, where they will be greeted by the bride's family and friends.
What should I wear?
For our wedding ceremony and reception, we encourage our guests to wear either Indian or western formal attire - whichever is most comfortable for you!
Will I be able to change between the ceremony and reception?
Yes! We know guests may want to wear something different for the ceremony and reception - there will be a couple of changing rooms available for those who wish to do so.
What is a sangeet?
A sangeet is a pre-wedding party where the bride and groom's friends and families come together for a night of dinner, drinks, dancing and musical performances. This is an opportunity for the two sides to get to know each other ahead of the big day!
What should I wear to the sangeet?
For our sangeet, we encourage our guests to wear Indian party attire - think lehengas, salwar kameez, sarees, kurtas and sherwanis. Otherwise, you can wear your brightest and sparkliest western dresses and suits. For any advice on where to find Indian outfits, don't hesitate to reach out to Ash and Joe!
