If you arrive early we suggest taking the metro around town to visit different areas. For those not familiar with the metro system watch this helpful video for how to use it:

Go visit the National Mall and see sights such as the White House, Lincoln Memorial, and many more! If you want to tour the White House you should look into that ASAP and is not available all the time. It requires a security check that can take time to complete.
This is one of our favorite hikes. At the intersection of 3 states near where Asha grew up you can enjoy the view and explore a historic town that also serves as the halfway point for the Appalachian Trail.
Go to 1 of the 17 Smithsonian Muesams in the DC area.
Visit the Baltimore Aquarium in addition to all the other great offerings in the city.

Asha and I have done a some hiking here in addition to a camping trip. Great place to enjoy the outdoors. Watch out for the black bears though!
