Our Wedding

Asher and Meg&nbsp;met in the summer of 2015 in Philadelphia through mutual friends. A season&nbsp;of travel, food, beer, and fun blossomed into a loving connection. A year later Asher moved to Philadelphia to continue his education, and the two joined together to live in Manayunk, a northern borough of the city. Asher lovingly adopted Megan's cat Fiona,&nbsp;who in turn adopted him, and life moved on for the two of them. Work, school, and life progressed for Meg&nbsp;and Asher&nbsp;through&nbsp;February of 2019, when Asher proposed on the snowy white peaks of Breckenridge, Colorado.

 

Since getting engaged, they've adopted Archie, a lovable dog into their family. Meg and Asher enjoy skiing, rock climbing, camping, hiking, beer drinking and brewing, watching the Eagles,&nbsp;board games, and many other activities&nbsp;together. They are very&nbsp;are excited to celebrate the occasion with their friends and family.

Our Story

The Venue

Old School Farm dates to the 1800's and was a family dairy and vegetable farm for generations.&nbsp; Their goal is to make their&nbsp;bio-diverse, organic small farm as self-sustaining as possible, eventually requiring little to no external/off farm inputs.

To do this they&nbsp;are starting to make use of their own resources as much as possible. &nbsp;Their woodlot to fire the earthen pizza&nbsp;oven, the sun to pump &nbsp;water for their gardens, their spring house to keep produce cool and for winter storage, green roofs to reflect heat and grow food (60 lbs of carrots in one 3' x 3' bed), their own grains and root crops to feed their livestock and poultry, &nbsp;bees and sugar maples for sweeteners, and most importantly, a large organic vegetable plot.They also have two small orchards, plenty of laying hens, turkeys, and sheep, to provide healthy, organic food for&nbsp;family, neighbors, friends and other local establishments.&nbsp;&nbsp;

Megan's sister and best friend, Cait will serve as her Maid of Honor on this special day. These two fought constantly in their youth and now talk on the phone several times a week and can't get enough of each other.&nbsp;

Brother and lifelong honorary twin&nbsp;to the Groom, Jake will be serving as&nbsp;best&nbsp;man and will be most easily recognized as being mistaken for the groom from behind. Jake and Asher have been nearly inseparable for as long as either can remember.

Cousin to the bride&nbsp;and honorary Keen sister. Jill is a bad-ass ER nurse and played field hockey in college. Jill and Meg are the same age and grew up together having sleepovers, choreographing dances, and playing sports.&nbsp;

Joe-bro, brother-in-law to the groom and all-around good guy. Joe has been a welcome addition to the family since marrying Asher's sister, Clover, in 2010. Joe will no doubt be sporting his signature smile.

Noah and Megan have been friends since 2010 and actually went to their high school prom together. Noah is an art director in NYC and they maintain their friendship through Facetime calls, Monday morning "back to work" texts, and playing Mario Kart online.&nbsp;

Friend and soon-to-be&nbsp;brother-in-law to the groom, Scott is honorary fire-tender for the event, a role he takes quite seriously. He is married to the Maid-of-Honor,&nbsp;Cait, and has been an integral piece in many great New Years, gatherings, and nights out for Megan and Asher.

Becky is Megan's best friend from college and long-time roommate and helped introduce her to Asher. While they were roommates, Becky&nbsp;co-parented Meg's cat, Fiona. They spent many years together obsessing over their favorite bands, going to shows, riding bikes,&nbsp;cooking vegetarian delicacies, and getting into&nbsp;mischief!

Friend and Game&nbsp;Master to the Bride and Groom,&nbsp;holder of vague historical facts, pun extraordinaire. Cam and Asher were introduced when Cam ruthlessly slaughtered Asher's first Dungeons and Dragons character. It's been smooth sailing ever since.

Long-time friend to groom, fellow board-game enthusiast, best hugger in the game, emcee, the list goes on for Zack. Asher and Zack have enjoyed a&nbsp;history of gaming and friendship, where the two have amassed innumerable stories, both tragic and delightful.

Denise is a close friend of Meg and Asher's. She is their rock climbing partner, caring&nbsp;aunt to their dog, Archie, gin and tonic extraordinaire, and master of Korean cuisine.&nbsp;&nbsp;Denise is the significant other of Asher's brother, Jake!

Registry

Philadelphia International is the closest major airport to the venue. You can fly into PHL and then fly to Wilkes-Barre or you can rent a car from Philly and drive up to Honesdale (less than three hours).

We have rooms blocked at Hotel Anthracite for Friday, October 30th and for Saturday, October 31st. The room block is called Keen/Panik Wedding. They have several different room types and sizes available. Please call to make reservation! The online booking system doesn't have a space for the block code so please call the front desk and they can help you! The block code will get you a discount on your room rate! This is where the bride and groom will be staying and where you can find them at the bar after the reception. If you're interested in an after-party, this is the place for you. This hotel is a 30 minute ride from the farm so a shuttle will be provided to and from the wedding.

The Hotel Wayne is located in Honesdale just 10 minutes from our venue, Old School Farm. This is a nice close option for guests who are not looking to attend the late-night after party or have kids and want to leave the reception and head right to bed!

The Wilkes-Barre Scranton International Airport is the closest airport to the wedding venue for those that are flying in. The Hotel Anthracite is only a 30 minute ride from the airport.&nbsp;

This beautiful estate is located just 9 minutes from the venue. If you're looking for a more luxurious stay after the wedding, this is your place.

If you are looking to book accommodations with a group, you may want to consider an Airbnb or VRBO property. If you aren't looking to attend the after-party, we would recommend getting a place closer to Honesdale where the wedding and reception will be. If you would like to attend the afterparty, I would consider finding a place closer to Carbondale where the Hotel Anthracite is.

This historic Pocono Mountains Hotel has all of the comforts of a Bed and Breakfast with the added convenience of a full service farm-to-table restaurant and tavern. It is located 25 minutes from the venue.

Tanner's Falls is an historic site just a half mile from&nbsp;Old School&nbsp;Farm. &nbsp;Once the location of an old tannery and village in the 19th and early 20th century, the scenic waterfalls and iconic iron bridge make for a great photo shoot venue or for a short hike down to the ledges that look out over the falls.

This&nbsp;is an amazing venue that was once an old barrel making facility. &nbsp;It's stage is now graced by some of the best musical talent in the Philadelphia/New York region and many other social events are held frequently.

The Cooperage Project

Check out Sawmill Cycles and Northeastern Wilderness Experience, both located on Main Street in Honesdale for guided outdoor adventures and equipment rentals like bikes, kayaks, and paddle boards to explore Northeastern PA's lake region.
