I met Michaela our first summer working at Triple R Ranch when we were 14. We became best friends and have been a part of each other's lives, through all the good and bad ever since.  We can be our true selves with each other and that has been the greatest gift of all.

Michaela and I met at work and instantly bonded over our shared sense of humor. From office laughs to late night gaming sessions, our friendship has been effortless and full of fun. One of my favorite memories is the day we went out to take photos of her. It was the perfect mix of laughter, creativity, and capturing her beauty. I’m beyond excited to celebrate this next chapter with her and be part of her special day.

I’m so happy to say that I got to play a role in how Asher and Michaela were introduced. It started when I first met Michaela in the fall of my senior year playing soccer with NCFC. In short order, we became fast friends after I teased her about her duct taped cleats, but it wasn’t long after that she got new ones. I’m convinced that those new cleats made her even faster. When I invited her over to my house for a bonfire, she met Asher, my dear brother. The three of us became fast friends. We hung out with her driving us around because she had her license and a car. Later they both graciously asked my permission to date, and I was so happy to say, “YES!” Today, I am so happy that from this day on, I will not only call Michaela “My Friend,” but I will get to call her “My Sister!”

It’s hard to put into words what Michaela really means to me. From the moment we met at Olive Garden in Cary, I knew our bond would last a lifetime. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering support has helped me more than I could imagine through the last few years.When I started at Olive Garden, I had just recently moved back to Raleigh. I didn’t have any friends as most of my childhood friends had graduated and moved on. During this time, I was ready for a new chapter but felt stuck as my schedule consisted of home and work. The manager offered me a full time position as a to-go specialist. Honestly, I was quite hesitant as I was just getting comfortable with my server coworkers. God told me to do something out of my comfort zone and I took the position. I believe we were in our slow period when I had one of my first shifts with the bride, Michaela. We automatically clicked and we acted like we had been friends our whole lives. Michaela was a friend that I didn’t know I needed until God put her in front of me. She made me realize how important my faith is to accomplish my aspirations. I wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for her jokes, guidance, and her constant check-ins. Michaela, thank you for being the friend I always needed.

I am so lucky to be able to call Michaela my cousin. Seeing her every summer and being able to catch up with her has brought me so much joy. We don’t live close by, so I really cherish the moments that we get to spend together during July. There is never a dull moment with her around. Every summer, for those few days that we get to see each other, I can always rely on her to make me laugh. She lights up every room she walks into, and I cannot wait to watch her step into this new chapter!
