Ashlee and Clark met the modern way- by Clark liking one of Ashlee’s pictures on a dating app called Hinge in 2022. Ashlee was hesitant about going on a date with Clark because he had or supported two of the things she vowed to never date. First of all he was a fellow redhead and she never wanted her kids to go through the teasing many redheads receive. Secondly, he was an OU fan and graduate and Ashlee bleeds orange (Go Pokes). A week later, they went on their first date to Prairie Artisan Ales in Oklahoma City. Ashlee was surprised at how sweet and charismatic Clark was and how he was so willing to let her ramble on about her love for all things western, pickles, and her career. Clark loved her drive and passion for what she cared about. He was also impressed she had the ESPN app to keep track of her many sports teams. They compared travel stories in Europe and shared their interest in sports, particularly the OKC Thunder. Clark really won over Ashlee on their second date when he tapped into her roots of being raised on a cattle ranch and took her to a nice steak dinner.

Since then, they have drank a lot of beer, watched a lot of sports, seen many of their favorite artists in concert and eaten a lot of good food. Clark has learned how to embrace Ashlee’s country roots and even bought a proper pair of Ashlee approved square toed boots. He has also perfected acting interested in all of her random political knowledge and rants just as she pretends to love all of the random sports stats he throws at her and having football on four days a week for 5 months out of the year. The real test was making sure their equally strong willed pups got along and fortunately for them Hank and Mika instantly hit it off. Clark and Ashlee have moved in together in Moore, Oklahoma and even took in two orphaned kittens they named Baker after Baker Mayfield and Ollie after Ollie Gordon.

They got engaged on June 22, 2024 after dating for almost 2 years. Clark had a foolproof plan of planning a photoshoot with a friend and Ashlee still managed to hijack it, ruin the surprise and plan her own proposal. You can occasionally find Clark in “orange” (really peach) in Stillwater supporting Ashlee’s love of Oklahoma State and more often Ashlee in Norman sporting her best red outfits that she had to buy once they started dating because it was previously banned from her wardrobe. As they step into this new chapter of their lives together, they are filled with gratitude for the love and support of their families and friends. Their journey has been nothing short of crazy and they can't wait to share many more adventures, laughter, and memories with all of you.
