What is a Katb Al Kitab?

The Katb Al Kitab (also known as a Nikah) is a Muslim ceremony that involves the formal signing of a marriage contract. This contract represents a sacred religious agreement between the bride and groom, outlining their mutual rights and responsibilities within the marriage. The ceremony is usually presided over by an Imam, who leads the proceedings and ensures that the marriage is conducted with respect to Islamic principles. The cherished event is often witnessed by close friends and family members of the couple. The Katb Al Kitab not only formalizes the union but also symbolizes the couple's commitment to uphold their faith and the core values that will guide their relationship.

Will Ashleigh and Ziad be married after this ceremony?

Inshallah, the couple will be religiously married on November 9th. Both Ziad and Ashleigh hold and respect this vow in the highest regard. Due to the unusual circumstances of their physical distance, a formal wedding ceremony to celebrate their legal union with family and friends will take place in 2025.

What should I wear?

Guests attending the ceremony portion are asked to dress formally and conservatively out of respect for Islamic practices. At the reception, guests are encouraged to dress comfortably and spend the evening with the combined families.

Can I bring my kids?

We politely ask that guests attending the ceremony help us maintain a child-free environment to minimize distractions. All are welcome to join us in celebrating the couple for the reception at the Khalifa home.

What date should I RSVP by?

Please RSVP using our website by November 1st, 2024 so we may appropriately accommodate for our guests.
