Celebration of Marriage

Our Wedding

Ashleigh and Daniel met in the summer of 2018 when Ashleigh was visiting for a legal externship at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Daniel will tell you that this marriage almost didn't happen because Ashleigh was giving him the run around. Ashleigh will tell you that she doesn't remember it that way (he's probably right). Nonetheless, Ashleigh and Daniel had their first date at Hog & Hominy in July of 2018. The remainder of that summer was a whirlwind of dates driven by Daniel's willingness to help Ashleigh mark things off of her Memphis Bucket List. This included a trivia date where Daniel corrected Ashleigh's answer regarding the gas that filled the Hindenburg (the answer is Hydrogen), minor league baseball, and lots and lots of Memphis's finest food. By the end of the summer, Daniel and Ashleigh knew that they had found something special. So, naturally, Ashleigh pressured Daniel into making things exclusive. There was a catch, though. Ashleigh was still in law school and Daniel had a job in Memphis. Two years of long distance courtship ensued. There were many early mornings, late nights, 5-hour drives, and sad goodbyes, but Ashleigh and Daniel endured. In 2020, Ashleigh and Daniel decided to move together to St. Louis, Missouri. Ashleigh pursued a master of laws in health law. Daniel went to Total Wine a lot and discovered his love for Topo Chico. They explored the city together and ate enough Italian food from The Hill to last a lifetime. They got a puppy and named him Memphis, the place where they met. They reconnected with old friends and made wonderful new ones. Then, on March 27th, 2021, in front of family and 1lb. 8 oz. Memphis, Daniel proposed in the entrance to The Muny theater in St. Louis. It was intimate and perfect, despite the uninvited Drake music blaring in the background. If you know Ashleigh, you know she wasn't phased by this and thought it only fitting that there was a hip hop soundtrack for her engagement. Ashleigh and Daniel moved back to Memphis in 2021. They love Memphis and cannot wait to welcome each of you to explore their home. At Ashleigh's insistence that they continue to honor their special number 29 (her birthday is 3/29, his is 12/29), Ashleigh and Daniel will be married in a small ceremony at the Shelby County Courthouse on Friday, April 29, 2022. On April 29, 2023, exactly one year later, Ashleigh and Daniel invite you to join them in celebration of their marriage at The Cadre Building in downtown Memphis for a night of food, drinks, and dancing.
