Ashleigh and Steve met each other through the dating app Bumble. For those unfamiliar with the concept of Bumble, it's different from other dating apps in that only women are able to start a conversation. If the men are interested, they have 24 hours to respond and "match" with the women.
Ashleigh saw Steve's profile and loved that they both held many of the same beliefs and shared a lot of common interests: live music, board games, browsing home decor stores, and their cats, Toby and Obi. Ashleigh had Obi and Steve had Toby before they met, so it was pure coincidence that their names rhyme.
She sent a message to Steve asking about a photo of him with his guitar. Steve replied and mentioned he liked the bands listed on Ashleigh's profile, and from then on, they didn't message or see anyone else. They are very grateful that Bumble brought them together, because their paths wouldn't have crossed without it!
Ashleigh had been begging Steve to take a trip to Disney, since they hadn't visited the parks at all during their two years of dating. Steve agreed, and they decided to go to Magic Kingdom and Ashleigh's favorite park, Epcot.
The first day of their weekend trip was spent in Epcot. Ashleigh had injured her ankle a few weeks before their trip, so she and Steve navigated the park with a wheelchair. Steve asked Ashleigh several times throughout the day where the prettiest spots were in the park, and they walked around the World Showcase several times until they reached the Italy Pavilion.
Steve wheeled Ashleigh over to the bridge between the pavilion and the lake, and then to Ashleigh's surprise, got down on one knee and asked her to marry him! She said yes, and the other guests standing all around them clapped and cheered, and even snapped a few photos for them.
