Our Wedding

Dan and Ashley's relationship began in the most modern of ways—through a simple connection on Facebook. It was early 2020, a time when the world was gearing up for the unprecedented challenges that the pandemic would soon bring. Despite the global uncertainty that loomed, their meeting sparked something special. What started as an online interaction quickly blossomed into a deep and meaningful bond, one that would evolve and strengthen as the months of isolation and change unfolded. Dan and Ashley’s relationship truly flourished during the pandemic, and one of the most memorable aspects of their time together was the creative and fun date nights they developed. With the world on lockdown and restrictions limiting their ability to go out, they had to get inventive in order to keep things exciting. This is where their bond grew even stronger, as they found new ways to connect, laugh, and make the most of their time together in the comfort of their home. Their living room became a cozy campsite on several occasions, with blankets and pillows scattered across the floor for movie marathons under the glow of fairy lights. But they didn’t stop there. Their backyard became a place for impromptu camping trips, where they’d pitch a tent, build a fire pit, and stargaze while sharing stories and dreams. The fresh air and the change of scenery, even if just a few feet away, gave them a sense of escape and wonder that was much-needed during those months of uncertainty. For some added fun, Nerf gun fights became a regular feature in their playful routine. The living room, often the backdrop of these mini battles, transformed into a battleground where they could chase each other around, laughing until they were out of breath. And then there were the make-your-own pizza nights, a regular tradition where they’d experiment with toppings and sauces, each crafting their personal pizza masterpiece. It was both a fun and delicious way to spend time together, while also giving them a sense of accomplishment as they enjoyed their creations. Through all these creative date nights—whether it was camping in the living room, playing Nerf wars, or crafting pizzas together—Dan and Ashley's relationship became a wonderful blend of laughter, adventure, and a sense of home. These unique moments not only brought them closer, but they also became memories that would stay with them long after the pandemic had passed. Their ability to make the best of a challenging situation turned their time together into something extraordinary, and it cemented their bond as a couple who could find joy in the simplest, most unexpected of moments. When Dan and Ashley first met, there was one little detail that Dan hesitated to share with her: he was "allergic to cats." Given Ashley's well-known love for felines, he worried that this would be a dealbreaker. She had a deep connection to cats, and he feared that the truth might send him packing. But, to his relief, it turned out that he wasn’t actually allergic to cats at all. As their relationship grew, it became clear that the cats were not just pets, but an integral part of their life together.&nbsp; Each of Dan and Ashley's three cats brings its own unique personality into the mix, adding a delightful dynamic to their home.&nbsp; Penelope the sassy and playful daddies girl. Penelope isn't shy about demanding attention, often hopping up onto the couch to snuggle up but only on her terms—when she wants affection, she makes it clear, but she is just as quick to dart away with a sassy flick of her tail. Louie, on the other hand, is the calm and cuddly mama's boy. His laid-back demeanor makes him the perfect lap cat. Louie loves nothing more than curling up in a cozy spot beside Ashley, purring contentedly as he dozes off. His calm presence balances out the playful energy of Penelope, and his gentle nature makes him the ideal companion for quiet moments. Then there’s Baby Binx, the curious and mischievous one. Full of boundless energy, Baby Binx is always getting into something, whether it is climbing to new heights or exploring the nooks and crannies of the house. His mischievous little eyes are always gleaming with the excitement of the next adventure. Despite his playful troublemaking, Baby Binx has an irresistible charm, often sneaking up to Dan or Ashley for a quick cuddle when he is feeling particularly affectionate. Christmas has always been Ashley's favorite time of year, a season she looks forward to with joy and anticipation. From the twinkling lights to the warmth of family gatherings, the holidays bring her the kind of happiness that makes every moment feel magical. Dan, knowing how much Christmas means to Ashley, he decided it would be the perfect time to propose. The idea had been on his mind for a while, but being the less naturally “planner” type in the relationship, he knew this would be a challenge for him. The perfect proposal was hard to envision—after all, how could he possibly top the joy and sparkle that Christmas itself already held for her? But, after much thought, he decided to take the leap, even though he wasn't entirely sure how it would all unfold. Ashley’s family has a special Christmas party every year, but he had no intentions of proposing that night. He simply planned to enjoy the evening and celebrate with her family. However, as the night wore on, Dan couldn’t help but notice how Ashley looked, surrounded by her family and friends, laughing and enjoying the holiday spirit. Seeing her so happy, so full of love and light, something inside him clicked. He realized that there was no better moment than now. Surrounded by the people who loved her most, with the Christmas lights twinkling in the background, it felt like the perfect setting for such a special moment. Caught up in the magic of the moment, Dan knew he had to act. With his heart racing and a sense of nervous excitement, he took Ashley’s hand and he dropped to one knee and asked the most important question of his life. The world seemed to slow down as Ashley’s eyes widened in surprise, and the joy of the season filled the air. Ashley, overwhelmed with emotion, said yes, her heart full of happiness, love, and the Christmas magic she so cherished. The proposal, though unplanned, was perfect in its own way, and it became another unforgettable memory in a season already filled with joy. Dan had pulled off a surprise proposal at exactly the right time—when Ashley was surrounded by the people she loved, celebrating the holiday that meant the most to her. It wasn’t about a perfectly crafted plan; it was about the genuine love and joy of the moment, and that made it all the more memorable.

Family-owned and operated for over 70 years, Fink’s Country Farm is a great place for all to visit. Our farm stand is open April thru December, celebrating all the wonderful seasons Long Island has to offer. Our stand is filled year-round with beautiful displays of fruits, vegetables, plants, flowers, yard decorations, cemetery momentums and more. We are open most major holidays throughout the year. Our barnyard is open June thru December weather permitting.
