Things to Do

Make It a Vacation — Things to Do in Puerto Vallarta & Beyond

If you're thinking about turning your trip into a little getaway (and we highly recommend it!), Puerto Vallarta and the surrounding areas have so much to offer.

Whether you’re looking for adventure, relaxation, culture, or just some time in the sun, there’s truly something for everyone.

Explore the Beaches:

Spend your days relaxing on some of Mexico’s most beautiful beaches. Los Muertos Beach in the Romantic Zone is lively and full of energy, while quieter spots like Playa Conchas Chinas or Playa Las Gemelas offer a more peaceful escape.

Wander Through the Romantic Zone:

This charming part of town is full of cobblestone streets, old churches, colorful art galleries, boutique shopping, and incredible restaurants. Perfect for a casual afternoon of exploring, people-watching, and soaking in the vibrant local culture.

Boat Tours & Island Adventures:

Take a boat trip to the famous Marietas Islands (home of the hidden beach!) or enjoy a day tour to Yelapa, a remote beach town only accessible by water. Whale watching tours are also popular from December through March.

Stroll the Malecón:

The Malecón (oceanfront boardwalk) is the heart of Puerto Vallarta, lined with sculptures, shops, live performers, and plenty of spots to grab a drink and watch the sunset.

Day Trips Beyond the City:

Sayulita: A colorful surf town about 45 minutes away, perfect for a fun day of shopping, surfing, and laid-back beach vibes.

San Pancho: Just past Sayulita, a quieter and artsier village that's great for a relaxed afternoon.

Bucerías: A charming small town known for its local art markets and authentic Mexican food, only about 20 minutes from Nuevo Vallarta.

Adventure Tours:

For those craving some action, Puerto Vallarta offers everything from zip-lining through the jungle, ATV rides, horseback riding to waterfalls, snorkeling, and scuba diving excursions.

Food & Tequila Tours:

Puerto Vallarta is a true foodie's paradise. Join a food tour to sample the best street tacos, fresh seafood, and traditional Mexican dishes — or take a tequila tasting tour to experience Jalisco’s most famous spirit right at the source.

No matter how you choose to spend your time, we’re sure you’ll fall in love with the magic of this beautiful place.

We can’t wait to (hopefully) celebrate with you — and we hope you’ll stay a little longer to enjoy everything Puerto Vallarta has to offer!
