In August 2020, they met in the tiny little township of Verona, Michigan (1 mile from where Ashley grew up). After meeting, they exchanged messages every so often and would run into each other once in awhile out with friends in Saint Clair Shores (where Jonny grew up). It was then in October of 2021, at a mutual friends wedding that they talked all night and decided to go out for some dinner and drinks the following week (thanks Dylan and Regan)!

It didn't take both of them long to realize they were each others person and the rest is history!

It was a cold, but sunny day on February 18, 2023 and we were making a trip to the Thumb. Being as this was where Ashley grew up and where she met Jonny, she never turned down a trip up north. A few other friends were at their farm up in Port Hope, and Jonny and Ashley wanted to check out a brewery in Caseville so decided to just make a day trip around the thumb.

After going to Thumb Brewery in Caseville, they headed over to Port Austin. Ashley always loved going on the breakwall while growing up, so she pointed it out to Jonny and he asked if she'd like to go out there. They parked the truck and bundled up and walked out on the lake.

After a few minutes of taking in the scenery, Jonny asked Ashley to stop throwing chunks of ice into the lake and come over by him and give him a hug. Moments later, he was down on one knee asking Ashley to spend the rest of their lives together.

Not only was it the perfect proposal, in the perfect place, at the perfect time....Jonny also had one more surprise up his sleeve. After traveling back home, to Saint Clair Shores, Jonny had some of their closest family and friends at Baffin - their favorite local brewery!

Jonny and Ashley live in Saint Clair Shores. You can find us mainly hanging out with our pup, Milo. On weekends, you can find us checking out breweries all over the state! If it's winter, we're most likely skiing and if it's summer we're probably up north on the boat.

We're so excited for this next adventure in our lives together. We can't wait to celebrate this day with everyone!
