August 11, 2020: The Derecho made Cody's house in Cedar Rapids lose power which led him back to Cedar Falls for a few days. While swiping on tinder, they found each other, instantly matched and began talking. It was an instant spark which led to a date the next day.

A few weeks later, Cody asked Ashley to be his girlfriend. They have been pretty much inseparable after that.

They have kept our love alive by traveling together, simple date nights and sharing common interests like movies and Legos. They moved in together, adopted a leopard gecko and a bunny, and went on learning about each other.

After 3 years together, and countless hints from Ashley, Cody decided it was time to make the ultimate commitment and ask for Ashley's hand. Throughout their time together, they had a running joke that Cody had three years to propose. Cody being Cody, decided to propose at 3 years and 1 day. He was struck with inspiration and devised a plan to propose on Ashley's 25th birthday, surrounded by Ashley's sister, brother-in-law and niece.

While it has felt like they've been together forever this is just the start. They are so excited to celebrate the beginning of their happily ever after with you!
