When and Where to Book Flights

Ideal booking window: 3–6 months in advance

For June travel, prices typically increase starting in early spring.

Flying into Barcelona–El Prat Airport (BCN) is recommended.

Direct flights are available from many major U.S. cities; one connection is common.

Passports

U.S. passports must be:

Valid for at least 3 months beyond your return date

Issued within the last 10 years

If your passport expires in 2025 or earlier, double-check validity now.

Do not carry your passport daily unless you need it.

Leave it locked in your hotel or villa whenever possible.

Pickpocketing is more common than violent crime, especially in Barcelona, and losing a passport is a hassle.
