Stay safe and many blessings, Ashley and Sam

Once upon a time, there lived a man named Sam. Sam was always at the gym with his friends trying to accomplish new goals every day. Meanwhile, there was a girl named Ashley who was training for a powerlifting competition at the time. Ashley, minding her own business, with her headphones in and trying to focus on her gains, noticed Sam and one of his friends who she recognized from work. She glanced over and smiled. She started walking over to where Sam and his friends were at and noticed Sam take out a camera. Having the silly personality that Ashley has, she started posing for the camera as she walked towards them while Sam snapped the photos. When Ashley finally approached them, Sam started to show Ashley the photos from the camera. To her surprise, she actually really liked them. With that, Sam responded, “Do you want me to send these to you, what’s your number?” Ashley responded, “yes, definitely that would be great!” They started chatting from there only to find out that they actually both work at Moffitt Cancer Center. It was an instant connection from late nights talking for hours under the stars to indoor go-cart racing where Ashley obviously beat Sam. The rest is history and they loved happily ever after.

Just like with everything, there are two sides to every story. Ashley’s side, and the truth. Here is what really happened ...

It was a brisk winter day in Tampa, Florida. Sam, who had just finished deadlifting 315lbs was using his rest time wisely by tutoring America’s youth about inorganic chemical synthesis. Sam’s friend was in attendance and was fidgeting with his new camera he bought on Black Friday. He was having a hard time getting the picture to focus. I grabbed it from him and pointed it outward. I could see in the display, a beautiful lady walking in my direction. The gym suddenly transformed into a runway. The lovey lady turned into a model and I had become the paparazzi. As I shouted out instructions, Ashley did her best glamour walk toward me, with that adorable smile on her face. When she reached me, I introduced myself as a professional gym photographer. I showed her the pictures taken and she was extremely impressed. I asked her if she would like me to send them to her and she replied “Yes please. That would be great.” She gave me her number and that eluded to starry night conversations, obstacle race competitions, and weekend trips to Disney.

Allison is my oldest, younger sister. When we were young we used to fight all the time, but our friendship and bond has only grown over the years. Our relationship is much stronger now that we are both adults. She’s one person who knows everything about me, the good and the bad, but has never judged me. She has and will always support me and she has one of the biggest hearts I’ve ever known. From rapping songs in the car, screaming to metal music while jumping on the bed, laughing endlessly, and being a shoulder to cry on, she is my right hand and I don’t know what I’d do without her. On my wedding day, Allie by my side symbolizes strength. Allie is a constant reminder that no matter how much turmoil I go through in life, I will always come out of it stronger than I was before.

Hailey is my sister and is currently a student at the University of Florida. She is the kind of person who gets involved in everything and keeps herself busy. She is a giver and has one of the most genuine hearts I know. We’ve gone on numerous family trips together, served the community together, completed bible studies together and have conquered challenges together. Our relationship only continues to grow as we are both getting older, and I’m truly amazed to see how she’s turned into such a beautiful human being. On my wedding day, Hailey by my side signifies humbleness. She‘s my constant reminder that I need to always remain humble and remember what is truly important here on this earth.

Marley is my youngest sister, but officially an adult. Marley graduated High School May 2020 and will be attending USF. From playing the violin, to pole volting, to cheerleading to flag football, she has such a diverse range of talents that make her incredibly unique. I’m so proud to be her big sister and watch her grow over all these years. I’ve always called her my little mini-me, but she continues to prove she is her own person and her drive will definitely get her far in life. Marley is always down for a new adventure and isn’t afraid of a challenge. This is something we’ve always had in common. On my wedding day, Marley by my side signifies spontaneity. She is my constant reminder that life isn’t always about having a plan for everything and doesn’t always have to be serious. She reminds me that even through the hard days at work, adventure still awaits around the corner.

I’ve known Danielle since we were in 3rd grade. The memories we’ve had together are endless. We used to make forts outside, sell our parents food, watch scary movies, have sleepovers, play with Bratz dolls, etc. When we would fight, our moms would sit us down and tell us to make up because we were going to be friends forever. Well isn’t that the truth? Even though I moved away, we always kept in touch. Then she moved closer to me and our friendship has stayed strong through it all. These next chapters in our lives, marriage and kids, are definitely going to be an adventure and I’m excited we get to go through it together. On my wedding day, Danielle by my side symbolizes comfort. Danielle is a constant reminder that comfort is a good thing. She brings me back to my roots, calms my nerves and reminds me that she is always there, through the good and the bad...forever, like our moms told us.

Brittany and I have known each other since 6th grade. We had some classes together and through cheerleading, our bond only grew stronger. From cheerleading competitions, sleepovers, gigantic slip and slide parties, dual enrollment courses, concerts, traveling the U.S., and now to marriage and children, the memories are truly endless. Brittany is one of the strongest people I know. We've both been here for each other through some of the hardest and best times in our lives. Brittany by my side on my wedding day resembles loyalty. She's my constant reminder to always support the people you love, to stand by their side and to always be there for them when they need you most.

Ashley and I have been friends since the 8th grade. Ashley is incredibly outgoing and we became instant friends. She’s charismatic, warm, and I love laughing with her. We were called Ashley squared in high school because we were inseparable. As we have traveled through life, our shared faith and history of friendship and memories keeps us bonded. Ashley’s compassion and love for people, in particular children with cancer, is incredibly special. She is a natural leader. Ashley by my side symbolizes determination and commitment. She reminds me to never quit on people who you love and that I should always stay determined to love hard and be kind to everybody.

I haven’t known Bridget very long, however I feel like I’ve known her my whole life. She was very protective of Sam when I first met her, but after a little bit of time, she warmed up to me and we bonded pretty quickly. Bridget is someone who has and will always have my back. No matter what time of day or what the task, she’s always there. She truly loves giving and loves making people feel special. It’s definitely a gift God has blessed her with. Bridget by my side on my wedding day signifies generosity. I am challenged and reminded every day by her to continue to be generous to others and especially to my future husband.
