Nothing is quite as magical—besides our wedding, of course—as visiting New York City during the holiday season. The Hamilton Manor is about 7.7 miles from Hamilton Train Station. From there, NJ Transit takes you directly to Penn Station, conveniently located next to Madison Square Garden and near the iconic Macy’s. You’ll be just blocks (though NYC blocks can be long!) from Times Square, and not far from Rockefeller Center, where the world-famous Christmas Tree and ice rink shine brightest this time of year.
About a 35–40 minute drive from The Hamilton Manor, New Hope is a charming town filled with quaint shops and unique eateries. During the holidays, it feels like stepping back in time. You can stroll across the bridge into Lambertville, NJ, which has the same cozy, festive spirit. Fun fact: Lambertville was often featured on Antiques Roadshow, with many of its antique shops connected to the show’s hosts. While you’re in the area, you’re also close to Washington’s Crossing, where the historic event is reenacted every year. And if you walk across the New Hope-Lambertville bridge, you can literally stand between two states—right over the water
Located just 20 minutes north of New Hope (about 50 minutes from The Hamilton Manor), Peddler’s Village is like something out of Gilmore Girls’ “Stars Hollow”—complete with a white gazebo at its center. The holiday atmosphere is magical, with decorated gingerbread houses, twinkling lights, and plenty of seasonal festivals. The unique shops, tasting rooms, and eateries offer one-of-a-kind gifts and treats that you won’t find anywhere else.
Only a 30-minute drive from The Hamilton Manor, Princeton is the quintessential Ivy League town. Stroll through the historic campus, explore boutique shops, and enjoy the festive charm. If you’re a fan of the TV series House, you might recognize Paulsboro (on the way to Princeton), where the show’s fictional hospital was based.
Just 25–30 minutes away, Bristol offers waterfront charm and history. Here you’ll find The King George Inn (circa 1681), one of the oldest restaurants in the county. Last Christmas season, a tree reminiscent of Rockefeller Center stood nearby, creating a magical holiday backdrop. While smaller than New Hope, Bristol has antique shops, tasting rooms, and plenty of cozy character.
About an hour from The Hamilton Manor, Philadelphia offers history, food, and fun. Snap a photo with the famous Rocky statue or run up the Art Museum steps. Visit the Liberty Bell and the Constitution Center as the city prepares for America’s 250th anniversary. And of course, no Philly trip is complete without a cheesesteak showdown between Pat’s and Geno’s—or better yet, sampling the incredible food stalls at Reading Terminal Market (which is often open on Sundays during the holiday season).
