The first time their paths crossed was at The Growing Tree. Ashley spent after school and summer there, while Josh knew everyone there since he had been born.

The next time their paths crossed was in Jarvis Hall at ECU. Ashley lived upstairs with her roommate, Amber, and Josh lived downstairs.

Josh asked Ashley for her number so they could hang out over the summer since they were both taking classes on campus. She gave him her number. (This also helped Josh in remembering her name.)

Josh asked Ashley to be his girlfriend on July12. They were at the bottom of college hill at ECU when Josh went to pick some flowers to give to her. (Obviously, she said yes!)

Josh and Ashley had their one-year anniversary. It was one of many to come.

Josh (finally) popped the question at the bottom of college hill at ECU. Ashley said "Absolutely!"
