Merritt and I met at the happiest place on earth besides Disney world... Thats right Scheels :) It was the re-grand opening for Scheels so they had a bunch of food set out for all the guest who were invited to come. So my friend and I who actually had a crush on Merritt at the time grabbed some fudge and brought it back to the bike shop guys. I guess you could say I swooned Merritt with my fudge hahaha!

Now how we got engaged is a great story!

It happened April 8th 2017 I for once didn't have a track meet on a Saturday so we both had a free Saturday to spend with each other. So Merritt decided to stay the weekend in Sioux Falls so we said we were going to go hiking and hang out with nature. So that Saturday morning Merritt woke me up at 7am and I was not happy. I didn't get why we had to go so early we had the whole day off. Well he got me out of bed because he said he would take me to Bagel Boy, and if you know me you know I love my bagel boy. So we went to Bagel Boy, and I ended up paying for it. Then we headed out to what I thought was Blue Mounds State Park, but Merritt had other plans. He said he wanted to stop at Lake Alvin first. (side note Lake Alvin is where Merritt first told me that he loved me) So we get to lake Alvin and Merritt says hey lets go on this trail. So like a good girlfriend I just followed along. We get a little ways into the trail and Merritt goes this is the wrong trail we have to turn around. I was like no lets just keep going it will be fine. It wasn't so Merritt convinced me to turn around. We get back to the normal trail that over looks the lake.Merritt started making his big speech which I had no clue so I kept interrupting him with my opinions and thoughts on the matter. Finally Merritt just stopped talking grabbed my ring finger hand said my full name and Merritt got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife! Meanwhile one of our friends S/O to Adam Gomez for being stealthy and taking the awesome pictures! It is definitely one day I will never forget!
