Our Wedding

Ashley and Shane grew up 2 minutes away from each other their whole life, but they came into each other’s life at the perfect time. While the couple had known about each other all throughout high school, their paths never crossed until later on in college when their two friend groups collided. Ashley and Shane’s love story began on a bowling night. One night the friend group had planned to go bowling, but everyone else had cancelled besides Ashley and Shane. Ashley and Shane spent the whole night together bowling and having fun. At the time Ashley was attending college in Las Cruces at New Mexico State and Shane was working in Albuquerque. The couple decided that distance did not matter and they continued to stay in close contact. After lots of late night phone calls, Ashley came home three weeks later and went on her first official date with Shane at the Hotel Andaluze Restaurant in Albuquerque on September 18, 2021. After the weekend, Ashley returned back to Las Cruces but the couple remained strong. The couple continued to visit each other in Las Cruces and Albuquerque. Shane officially asked Ashley to be his girlfriend in Denver, Colorado on November 4, 2021. The couple continued to do long distance while Ashley was in college. After receiving her Bachelor’s degree, Ashley attended the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington to pursue a master’s degree in chemical engineering. She graduated with her masters in June 2024 and the couple remained strong throughout all of the long distance. After a couple years, long distance is now over and the happy couple officially now live together in Albuquerque, New Mexico where Shane works as a low-voltage electrician at Millennium Communications and Ashley is a systems engineer at Sandia National Laboratories. Shane proposed to Ashley on a romantic camping weekend at Lake Heron, New Mexico on June 12, 2024 while the sun was setting and the campfire was lit. Ashley and Shane were taking photos by the campfire and Ashley decided to close her eyes during one of the photos where Shane pulled out the ring behind her. Ashley went scrolling through her phone to see how the photo turned out when Ashley then saw what was going on and turned around. It was such a perfect night and one of Ashley and Shane’s most favorite and special days. Ashley and Shane then spent the rest of the weekend fishing and going out on a boat, a perfect weekend for the couple.

The market houses 27 individual local merchants including a brewpub, a cocktail and wine bar, and a mercantile. At the center is THE YARD, an outdoor dining + play space. This is a great place to come to enjoy a drink and have so many food options that every person can find the type of food they’re craving!

Sawmill Market

The Sandia Peak Tramway is the world’s longest passenger tramway. Amazing ride to the top of the Sandias on the tramway. The views will be breathtaking! It takes about 15 minutes to get to the top once you board. You can also drive up the back to a similar view, which takes about an hour. There is a restaurant at the top of the Tram, Ten 3, that serves New American cuisine. Plan ahead, the altitude increases very quickly, and it can be very cold at the top.

Sandia Peak Tramway

Sadie’s has some of the best New Mexican food in town. With amazing red chile and green chile, this is one of Ashley’s and Shane’s favorite restaurants in town. Be ready for some spicy food! There are multiple Sadie’s location in Albuquerque.

The BioPark is beautiful with an aquarium and zoo. This is a great place to bring your kiddos and see some amazing animals. The ABQ zoo will surprise you with all of the possible animals that you would want to see and is definitely worth going to!

Meow Wolf started in 2008 as a small collective of Santa Fe artists sharing an interest in publicly displaying their works and developing their skills together. This collaborative approach blossomed into Meow Wolfs distinctive style of immersive, maximalist environments that encourage audience-driven experiences. We recommend buying tickets in advance.

Bosque is a New Mexico owned microbrewery and one of Ashley and Shane’s favorite place to go and enjoy a beer. Bosque offers a variety of beer (and even has cocktails and really yummy ciders for those non-beer drinkers) and really good food. There are multiple Bosque locations in town.

Topgolf is a great place to go on a date night or enjoy some quality time with some friends. They offer a great time hitting some golf balls, a full bar, and great food. We highly recommend making reservations ahead of time as Topgolf can become quite busy and especially on the weekends.

Main event is a fun place to go with friends and family to enjoy some food, watch sports, and play some games. They have all of the fun activities that you would want and it’s very kid friendly. They have bowling, virtual reality, laser tag, billiards, games, escape rooms, mini golf, gravity ropes, and laser tag.

Frontier serves fresh New Mexican food and is one of Ashley’s favorites in town. Frontier is located right across from the University of New Mexico. They have the best fresh tortillas, orange juice, and burritos. This place is a New Mexico staple. Ashley’s favorite order is the “Frontier Burrito” with a large glass of OJ.

Dion’s is another New Mexico staple. They serve pizza, subs, and salads. They are known for their great pizza and incredible ranch (they also have green chile ranch that is a must try).
