Our Story

Thanks “Plenty of fish!”

Picture of Thanks “Plenty of fish!”

On 2/15/18 I opened a message from Jerod on a dating website called Plenty Of Fish (POF)!
The message said, “Will you teach me how to dance?” I love country dancing and I wrote in my “about me” on my dating profile that I would only go on a date with a guy that could dance, haha! Well, two days later on 2/17/18 Jerod pulled up to my house to pick me up for our very first date to the San Antonio Rodeo to see Luke Combs (my dad ran outside to meet him before I could, haha)! After the rodeo that evening we went to Thirsty Horse Dancehall so I could teach him how to dance (he definitely used that as a pick up line to get me on a date because he could for sure dance already, haha!)
For our second date Jerod took me to the “Botanica Music Festival” at Fiesta Texas where we had all access to a full seafood buffet/unlimited rides! We were like little kids and had an absolute blast!!!
The weekend after that was our third date where we did our first crawfish boil together (this is when Jerod learned to share my love for crawfish with me!)
After those first three dates we were inseparable!
A little over a month later on 3/24/18 we went to a crawfish Festival at Retama Park called “Big Texas Fun” to celebrate my 25th birthday. This was the day Jerod told me he loved me for the very first time!!!
My heart was filled with so much joy!!!
Jerod was living in a camper in Plesanton at the time working in the Oilfield as a Pipeline welder. I was living in San Antonio at the time working as a Dental Assistant. So for the first couple months of our relationship we would go back & forth to see each other until we decided we wanted to buy our first home together!
On 10/30/18 we closed on our very first home!
This is when our adventure started!
A short couple of months later on 3/23/19 we went to the “Big Texas Fun” crawfish festival again to celebrate my 26th birthday as a tradition now. Well little did I know it would end up being one of the most special days of my life!
Jerod put an engagement ring in my crawfish so when I went to open up the container he was already down on one knee behind me and asked me to marry him!!!!! Obviously I said YES!
A couple months later I got accepted into Dental Hygiene school (another huge exciting day for me) so we decided to plan our wedding for after I graduated… this is why we were engaged two years and picked a 2021 wedding date haha! Well, during Hygiene school Jerod got a job offering for a Pipeline position in New Mexico making great money. So we thought since I was so busy with school we could do long distance for a few months to try to save money before I graduate and we get married! Well we did that for a couple months… trying to enjoy every second we could get with each other (hint, hint) haha! 😉

Labor Day, Monday 9/7/20…
I took a pregnancy test & found out I was pregnant!!!!
We were so beyond excited and filled with so much happiness, our little spuds due date was Mother’s Day, May 9th 2021!
Jerod continued to work in New Mexico (now we really needed to save money haha), I continued Hygiene school and graduated in March.
About a month after I finished school on 4/13/21 my water broke (a month early while Jerod was four hours out on his way home from New Mexico! I had just told him two days earlier that I had a weird feeling and wanted him to come home.) Jerod made it to the hospital perfect timing and our beautiful little boy Jaxon was born at 7:12pm! Jerod has been home with Jax and I ever since he arrived and now we are getting ready for our big day as a family of three! Our entire relationship has been a gigantic gift from god and we can’t wait to celebrate our love with you on our wedding day!
