In August of 2018, I (Ashley) was having a rough day, so I decided to go down to a little bar down the street from my house called Fat Sammy's to enjoy a beer or two after work before heading home. Steven had seen me sitting all alone and thought I could use some company. He invited me over to hang out with him and his friends, and wouldn't you know it, they were kinda cool! Every time I went to Fat Sammy's after that and I saw them there, we would have a few drinks together and laugh the night away.

As you know it, life happens, and I hadn't been to Fat Sammy's for a while, and we lost touch. Fast forward to October, 2019. I was out with a few of my girlfriends for a girls night out, and we were trying to gather more people to join our shenanigans. My dear friend Selena had suggested I call Steven and invite him out! We met up at none other than Fat Sammy's! That night, he had asked me if I would like to go to a haunted house with him. I LOVE haunted houses, so of course, I said yes! The next date the haunted house would be open was a week away, but we had begun texting non-stop. What started as two friends going to do something together had quickly turned into a full-blown date, complete with a steak dinner at George's Steak House, and drinks at Sidetracked Bar in Neenah! Over the next month or two, we had grown pretty close as friends... But, life happened again, and we had lost touch for a while.

March, 2021, he had sent me a message and wanted to meet up. By then, I had moved back to Michigan to be closer to my family, but said I was coming to Appleton to visit a friend, and we could meet for a drink. It was then we had both confessed our feelings about each other, and the rest is history!!!
