Our Story

How We Met

You know that feeling when you swear you know someone, but you can’t quite place how? That’s exactly how it started for us. One night at a local spot in town, Josh was getting ready to leave, but something about him was so familiar, I couldn’t let him walk out without saying something. So, with a mix of curiosity and courage, I stopped him and invited him to help me play music (smooth, right?) and asked if he happened to know a mutual friend. He did…That simple question turned into a conversation, and the rest, as they say, is history.

It wasn’t until later that we realized we had actually crossed paths a year earlier — briefly at a golf course with a family friend. Josh had been so quiet that day, the moment didn’t stick. (For those who know him well, we know this comes as a shock!) But it explained why he looked so familiar that night. Timing is everything. That unexpected connection — and a pick-up line that turned out to be true — is still one of our favorite parts of our story.

From that day on, things just felt easy, and before long, we were building a life together.

The Proposal

Three years later, we were on a summer trip to St. Germain — a beautiful, peaceful place where Josh’s family has vacationed since he was a child. The lake we visited holds a special place in his heart. Being there has always made Josh feel close to his parents, Sharon and Rich, and it’s become a special place for both of us.

One evening, while we were out fishing, we found ourselves in a quiet little spot on the water, and catching fish like crazy we didn’t want to leave. As we began to pack up, the sun dipped lower in the sky, and right there, in that peaceful moment full of love, memories, and meaning, Josh asked the question that changed everything.

It couldn’t have been more perfect — just the two of us, on a lake full of history and heart, starting our next chapter surrounded by the kind of love that lasts.
