Picture of Our Story

Stoney and I met in June of 2022 when we were both not looking for anything serious (ha). Stoney was on the phone with a mutual friend of ours, Derek, and his son, Ty, when Ty mentioned something to his dad about hooking us up. Stoney asked for my name so he could check me out. He found my Facebook and slid right on into my DMs with a poem. It was cheesy romantic, nothing at all like Stoney lol! We ended up talking for a few weeks over text and FaceTime and then we decided to meet up one weekend for what was the beginning of our ‘Stoney and Ashley Adventures’. We took a road trip to Port Lavaca and had a blast.

We spent the next few months seeing each other on the weekends and talking on the phone pretty much all day. We went from not wanting anything serious to being head over heels for each other pretty quickly.

Stoney eventually was able to meet all of the kids and get a taste of our crazy life to see if he could handle it. He fit in so well and was so amazing to my kids. We started planning future trips together by ourselves and with the kids. It was literally a dream come true. I eventually met Stoney’s family and his beautiful daughter. They scooped me in and made my children and I feel like family instantly.

Jumping to the proposal:

Stoney and I had talked about taking a cruise for quite some time but we weren’t sure how to make time to do it. When we heard that my baby brother was getting married, we figured that it would be a good time to just take a long vacation and go on that cruise. I had assumed that he was going to propose to me on the cruise because of comments he made and how he was acting. (And because I’m super nosey and tried snooping)

Well unbeknownst to me, he had gotten ahold of my baby brother and his fiancé and asked their permission to do it in front of my family at the rehearsal dinner. In the middle of dinner, he got down on one knee, pulled out a beautiful 3 ct diamond round brilliant cut solitaire ring, and asked me to be his wife. I was in shock and literally had no words for a minute or two. I said yes, and now here we are. We went on our cruise and celebrated our engagement like we were celebrities.
