Although they wish they had a more interesting start to their story than “the apps” — this story only gets better with time ;) Drew reached out to Ashley saying he loved her dogs and taste in Christmas decorations. Ashley appreciated Drew’s wholesome approach and decided he was someone worth responding to. She said something along the lines of, “You have a very cute dog and great facial hair!” And the rest is history.
Come to find out, Drew had been sending his athletes to a clinic down the road for sports clearance and medical care... without knowing this is the clinic where Ashley worked! They had probably signed off on each other’s documents many times without knowing what was to come. Ashley and Drew realized pretty quickly just how similar they really were. Conversation was easy and effortless. Their life goals and values aligned. And a few fiery iMessage dart games revealed they had the same sense of competitiveness. Drew had a hard time accepting a few brutal losses and decided to invite Ashley for a real life game of darts — which he did, for the record, win.
Their first date was at Postino Wine Bar where they shared a bottle of wine, a board of bruschetta and their life stories. It must’ve gone pretty well because before saying goodbye, they made plans to meet up again. And again. And again. In fact, since that first date, they haven’t gone more than a couple of days without seeing each other. Between busy schedules, they would make time to try a fun new restaurant or cocktail bar together, grab a coffee, or watch the latest episode of Big Brother. It really didn’t matter what they did, they always had a great time together.
Drew reeled in the line a few months later. He told Ashley, “I kept waiting for the perfect moment to do this, but I think I'd rather tell our kids someday that I couldn't wait any longer to make you my girlfriend.”
Wait, they bought a house together before they were married? Yes, yes they did. Against probably everyone’s advice in the history of ever — they bought their first home together one year later. But hey, when you know, you know. They spent the past year making their house a home and loving on their three crazy pups.
Drew and Ashley took a trip to Yellowstone and Bozeman, Montana just a few days into 2024. They were spending the last night of the trip at Cabin # 5 at Ross Creek Cabins. With an incredible view of the Bridger Mountains in the background, Drew got down on one knee and asked Ashley to be his wife!
They cannot wait to celebrate this next chapter of their lives with the people they love the most!
