We met the way all legendary romances begin… sweating, laughing, and wildly swinging paddles on a pickleball court at Lucky Shots Pickleball Club. Ashley had barely walked in before our friend Lisa took one look at her, and basically said, “Yep— you need to meet my friend Devin over there.” It started slowly at first, just a few games here and there, but over time we found ourselves looking forward to seeing each other on the court more and more. We kept showing up, kept playing, kept laughing—and after a few months (okay like 6), Ashley decided Devin was way too sweet, cute, and hilarious to keep things strictly on the court. One date couldn’t hurt, right? One date became two, and then suddenly we were on a 9½-hour “third date” road trip to South Dakota for a weekend of hiking, hot-tubbing, and making our friends question our life choices. Somewhere between mile marker 247 and poorly sung country songs, we realized we were kind of perfect for each other. And the rest, as they say, is history.
