Chris and I first met at a mutual friend's party while attending our freshman year at UCF. A group of us were sitting at the kitchen table, and by chance I locked eyes with Chris who immediately pulled out a deck of cards and said, "Pick a card," one of his many ice breakers.

As he shuffled the cards after I placed my card back into the deck, he just kept flipping through the cards placing them face up onto the table in front of me. After noticing he placed my card on the table he said "I bet you the next card I flip is your card," I laughed and said 'Yeah right."

Only then did I realize the trick, when he flipped my card that was already on the table instead from the deck, and for some reason this was the first moment I knew - he was someone I would like to spend more time with.

We remained friends through college, but during those years we kept our true feelings about each other secret - afraid we would spoil the friendship we had developed over a silly card trick. Then one day, the secret just couldn't be held any longer. I was afraid either he or I would be separated before I could let him know how I felt all the times we laughed and spent time together with our friends and alone by chance. It was magic in the end, that we both felt the same way.
