What started as a friendship during our senior year of high school slowly grew into something more. Just before we both headed off to college, Kasen asked me out on our first date — and with a little bit of encouragement from my momma, I said yes. I’m so glad I did, because that one “yes” changed everything.What was supposed to be a quick lunch at Cristina’s Mexican Restaurant turned into five hours of conversation and laughter—then a few days later, we lost track of time again over a four-hour Panda Express date. From then on, we were inseparable. We connected instantly, talking and laughing like we had known each other our whole lives.Even though we went to college in different states, Kasen at the Colorado School of Mines and me at the University of Oklahoma, distance didn’t change a thing. If anything, it made our relationship stronger. After months of late-night FaceTime calls, he asked me to be his girlfriend on November 21, 2020 after driving from Colorado to Oklahoma just to drive me home from OU for Thanksgiving break.Since then, we’ve shared five incredible years together filled with adventures, laughter, and love. From hiking the mountains of Colorado to cheering on the Sooners in Norman (against Kasen’s will, since he thinks he’s a UT fan), to traveling to Florida, Disney, NYC, and beyond, there’s never been a dull moment. He is my best friend, my biggest supporter, and the person who can make me laugh for hours on end. We’ve grown so much over the years, not just as individuals but together. I truly don’t know what I’d do without him.Above all, we are so thankful for the way God has guided our story from the very beginning. We know that our relationship is a reflection of His goodness, and we pray that our marriage will continue to be rooted in faith, love, and grace. Here’s to many more years filled with love, laughter, and adventure with the love of my life. ♡
