Our Wedding

Work. 😆 We met at work. I (Ashley) always refrained from involving myself with anyone romantically at work but he made my heart skip. I gave him flowers for Valentine’s Day. Doug gave me a GIANT stuffed dragon the next day (our Mushu) and by the next week, I told him how I felt. By March 6th, it was official :).

Where We Met

Turns out, we both love to travel! The bride has always had a sense of wanderlust and along with the grooms desire to see famous places and beautiful destinations, we have already taken quite a few trips together. Some right here in New York(Oneida lake & Chaumont Bay for some monster walleyes & musky lunge), to a road trip over to Maine and down to Connecticut for the brides first concert (Godsmack, was epic btw), to our beloved Diamond Mine in Arkansas (where he proposed), to Minnesota for more ice fishing, and lately Ohio to the State Reformatory to go see the mass concert Inkcarceration! No matter where we go or what we do, it’s always amazing especially since we’re doing it together :) .

Thank the lord for my mom! She’s the person who I can attribute my craftiness, the introduction to musicals, and tolerance and forgiveness from (thank you for dealing with us three girls being sprung onto you so many years ago💖)! I was so happy she said yes for we will need her strength and organizational skills to help me plan this thing lol. Photographer and gardener by day, maid of honor by night (and my mom 24/7).

From hunting to working to just joking around, it’s Doug’s cousin now best man! He’s been there for the groom since they were little to current day. Just this last year, Jason, his wifey Emily, and us went out to Minnesota together to go sleep and fish on a frozen lake. Traveling states or just staying here in New York, there’s no better beat man for Doug.

Jasmine (AKA “Jim”, “Jam”, and “Moe” :P) is Ashley’s sister who is 11 months and 2 weeks older than her (so we get to be the same age for exactly two weeks, and I do in fact bring that up every year). She is one of my best pals. She was there from the moment I said “he’s just a friend from work” to “no I don’t like him” to “okay I might have a huge crush on him” to “I’m in love with him” and finally to “I said yes. :)”

Elianna (AKA “Eli” or “Jelly”) is Ashley’s eldest sister. Through tough times and great times, she never fails to reach out and say hello and make us laugh with her puns. I’m proud to have someone so kind hearted and headstrong to be one of my bridesmaids.

Doug has known his since school and has kept in contact with him. Though he lives in New Hampshire, he still visits Seneca lake occasionally. We went up there in 2023 to visit him and his family which was awesome! He got to show us the scenery and took us to see some wild moose.

I met Arden also on Overnights at Walmart! She was the first person I really got to talk to. Being a bridesmaid with her in Brit’s wedding, and then a bridesmaid in her wedding too was awesome, she has been very inspiring and funny from the start.

I met her and her husband working at Walmart on Overnights. I remember wanting to say hello to her and talk to her but wasn’t sure if she even liked me, but here we are! I was in her wedding as a bridesmaid and it had been so exciting to see her become a mom and now have her own place!

Another OG from back in the day! One of Doug’s best friends and one of the chillest people we know, he’s guaranteed to make you laugh and he’ll be there for you when you call.
