They met in the Spring of 2018, through both of their roommates and there was an immediate spark. From the start, Ashley has always been the ying to Danny’s yang, complimenting each other in all the best ways. What started off as friends, turned quickly into more after a long night at 22 North (vodka red bulls and dancing included) turned into what Danny thought was a date at Cold Stone. Bonding over a shared love for cake batter ice cream, Ashley agreed to go on a real date with Danny, accompanying him to Dockside Restaurant - unbeknownst to them, it would be both of their last first date.

Ashley graduated in the Spring of 2018 and continued to visit Danny throughout the summer of 2018, as he had two additional years in school (yes, Ashley could be considered a cougar as she is older by 361 days). While Ashley moved back to Charlotte and Danny stayed in Wilmington for school, a long-distance relationship was their only option. Some may find distance difficult, although it’s easy when you know it’s the right person. The two continued their long-distance relationship for the following two years, before Danny was able to move to Charlotte.

In Charlotte, their family expanded to five members. Rosie, Danny's trusty beagle/shepherd sidekick, had been there from the beginning. Ashley "adopted" Vladimir, a street-smart cat, and together they welcomed Roscoe, a lovable Rottweiler found through the pages of Craigslist.

Danny asked Ashley to be his wife on April 21, 2023 at Floriana’s on the riverwalk in Wilmington, NC and they haven’t looked back since.
