Busy exploring the limits of human knowledge, Dave's idea of traveling had always been a van ride to a cookie-cutter college town hosting a track meet. From Columbia, MO, to State College, PA, to Fayetteville, AR, and everywhere in between, Dave thought he had seen it all. Meanwhile, Ashley's education had taken her to classrooms in Europe and South America.

When their paths crossed, Ashley opened Dave's eyes to exotic new experiences in far away places. First there was their trip to Argentina in 2017. One day Ashley scheduled a delightful bicycle tour of Argentinian vineyards. Being a lifelong learner, Dave let everyone know how excited he was to learn to ride a bike when they arrived at the bike rental shop. Ashley's sister Annie did not miss a beat and stepped right in to teach Dave basic motor skills and save the afternoon.

The rest, they say, is history. Now Dave and Ashley are regulars along the Columbus bike paths. Just last fall Dave completed his first Little Miami Triathon with his brother Brian. Never one to be outdone, Dave even took it upon himself to introduce Ashley to something new, American football. They were there live as the Buckeyes beat Xichigan in a double-overtime thriller in 2016.

These adventures were just the beginning. After Argentina, Dave and Ashley took a trip to the Far East in 2018. Ashley spent a month working in a Chinese children's hospital and visited Thailand and Cambodia with Dave afterwards. They are currently planning their honeymoon to Europe. And the best is yet to come!
