Our Wedding

Ashley and Gelasio met while at Sam Houston State University. She was in Graduate School and Gelasio was pursuing his Bachelor's Degree. Her sorority, Lambda Theta Alpha, had been partnered up with his fraternity, Pi Kappa Alpha, for the Spring 2011 Greek Week; but that isn't how they met! Throughout the semester, Ashley would hear her sisters talk about this funny guy named Gelasio, and one day he sent her a friend request on Facebook.A few weeks after becoming friends, they started messaging each other. Ashley found Gelasio's attitude was so refreshing, that when he asked her to join him for a movie around early May, she said yes! Over those next few months, they met each other's family, traveled to friend's weddings, supported Ashley through her Master's defense, and fell in love. They've been through so many adventures, tribulations, victories and crazy moments; and they couldn't ask for anyone else to be by each other's side. As all of her friends knew, Ashley had been hoping for the Proposal for quite a while; but when it happened she was so surprised!! It was the day before her 30th birthday (January 14th) and they had gone to brunch. Ashley remembers thinking Gelasio was being exceedingly nice and she wondered "Why is he being SO over-complimentary?" but she had no clue that it was because he was so nervous. Gelasio had another couple in the restaurant take photos of them, and he got down on one knee and held the most beautiful ring she had seen. Obviously, after almost SIX YEARS she said yes as quickly as she could.Gelasio took his sweet time asking Ashley to marry him; but THANKS BE TO GOD they are FINALLY GETTING MARRIED!

Rosalee was my freshman dorm-mate, and by the second semester we lived together. We liked each other so much we lived with each other two more times! She has always been so encouranging and supportive of me, and now Gelasio. I'm beyond blessed that she agreed to be my Maid of Honor.

I've known Karla, my linesister, since Spring 2006. Over the 11 years we've known each other she has been a confidant, a voice of reason, and an amazing sorority sister. Her ability to manage a no-nonsense attitude helps me stay on track with life, and now the wedding!  I'm lucky to have her in my life.

Kathleen is my Baby 6! We've been sisters together for 9 years, and we've had so many adventures together! As we've grown up, she has become one of my greatest supporters and cheerleaders. My life and all of this wedding planning wouldn't be the same without her smile, positive attitude and infectious laughter!

Laura is my Baby 3! I've known her as long as Kathleen, since they pledged together. She's always been my "baby" but over the years she's been a wonderful sorority sister, support system and shoulder to cry on. It's an honor to have her in my life, and to have her as my bridesmaid.

Martha (aka Lizi) is my future sister-in-law! Since we first met July 4th, 2011, she and Gelasio's handsome nephew, Ethan, have always been so welcoming. I'm very blessed and lucky to have such a FANTASTIC sister-in-law like her.

Roma and I met waaaay back in 6th grade, and over our 18 years of friendship we've become even closer than ever imagined. She is definitely my soulmate, and her approval of Gelasio meant so much to me. This year has been an interesting one with her thousands of miles away in India. Thankfully, due to God and overseas WiFi, she has been able to support me throughout this long-awaited adventure. It will be a wonderful day when she is back in Texas for these life events!

 I've known Jessie Jo for about 14 years! She has blessed me with my beautiful 4 year old Goddaughter, Jada. Together we have been through many trials, tribulations and successes. Some of our adventures have been like a roller coaster, but we always come off of "the ride" together. She isn't able to be a part of the bridal party but she is still one of my closest friends and has been a great help with brainstorming.
