Picture this — It’s 2016 on the adult-kickball field in Silverlake, Los Angeles, CA. Both James and Ashley have joined this intramural league with friends, but this particular season, had not yet been on the same team, nor met. James is stretching on the field with his friend, also the co-captain. Ashley enters the scene and James immediately makes a comment about her…. beauty…. to the captain. Alas, she’s not interested and James “ceases to exist,” as he says. Fast forward to later in the year, game’s over and the shared field cooler of questionable, blue mixed drink was flowin’ a little too strong. They fell in love at The Mexican Village bar, and the rest is history…. Or something like that…&nbsp;

Like any typical couple, James and Ashley spent the following months getting to know each other’s family and friends. Each circle was incredibly accepting and inviting, which made their relationship grow strong. This was even more inevitable when their first son Ziton was born August 2017.

Since then, Ashley got her wish of expanding to a family of 4 kids — next came Akali in Sept ’19, Costa in Jan ’22, and finally Brexx in June ’23. James even reluctantly accepted Garry, the frenchie, as his own over the years, and even pretends to still have distaste for him, even though they’re often caught snuggling.

Despite jumping straight into having children together, James and Ashley have been blessed to travel a lot over their 8+ years together. They have visited Maui, Vegas, Scottsdale, Costa Rica, Chicago, Boulder, Cincinnati, Dallas, Charlotte, NYC, Cancun, and of course, Ashley’s hometown(s) of STL and Kansas City many times, including one roadtrip from CA to STL!

Never a dull moment in our lives lately, but the love remains strong. Ashley likes to call it “best friend stuff,” to which James will respond “BLoew is my best friend.” And now, here we are—counting down the days until we say 'I do' in front of the people we love most. Thank you for being part of this journey with us. Your love and support mean the world, and we can’t wait to celebrate the start of this new chapter together. Here’s to forever—starting with an unforgettable day!

**PLEASE READ if you plan to stay at a DIFFERENT resort than Dreams Playa Mujeres!!** The resort charges their own entry fee of $130 PER PERSON upon arrival at the wedding for all guests NOT staying at the resort. Upon arrival, you will be directed to the front desk to pay this fee before entry to the wedding events is allowed. To avoid this fee, should you choose to stay at a different resort, we highly recommend booking at least a 1-night stay at Dreams for the night of the wedding.

There are TONS of amazing activities and excursions to do outside of the resort while you're in town. And we hope you're able to make a lovely vacation out of your trip! Should you decide to take any excursions outside of the resort, we HIGHLY recommend you book through the resort's trusted site -- Amstar DMC -- linked below. They have great activities, reasonable prices, and trustworthy transportation. Our personal favorite!! One of Amstar's amazing and fun excursions is swimming with dolphins. The coolest part? This "excursion" is actually on site at Dreams! Highly recommend this activity!! :) You can book with the excursion desk near the lobby during your stay.
