Ashley and Andrew first met in 2008 during a production of The Rocky Horror Show. Although they hit it off, the timing wasn’t quite right for anything more than a friendship. Over the next few years, they continued to meet every October for the annual Rocky Horror Show at the Barnstormer's Theater in Ridley Park. Their friendship grew stronger with each performance, and they stayed in touch until 2011, when life took them in different directions, and they lost contact.

Fast forward to 2022: Out of the blue, Andrew sent Ashley a Snapchat message, sparking their regular conversations once again. In August of that year, Ashley invited Andrew to an Elton John concert. Both were nervous, harboring long-standing crushes on each other, but the concert turned out to be an amazing experience for both of them. After the concert, Ashley decided it was their chance to explore something more. She repeatedly tried to arrange a get-together, but Andrew’s busy schedule made it almost impossible.

On November 10th, 2022, after several unsuccessful attempts to hang out, Ashley confided in her friend that she was ready to give up on pursuing anything further with Andrew. However, that very night, Andrew reached out, asking to meet up. Ashley quickly dismissed her earlier decision, got dressed, and headed to McLaren's Irish Pub to meet him. Upon arriving at the Wilmington location, she called Andrew, only to discover that he was at the Newark location instead. Determined to see Andrew, Ashley jumped back in her car and drove to the correct spot, where he was waiting for her.

That night marked the beginning of something special. They started spending time together daily. On July 4th, 2023, Ashley moved from DELCO to Newark to be with Andrew, and the next day, she convinced him to visit the SPCA, where they adopted their fur baby, Sully. The trio spent their first year together creating countless memories.

In May of 2024, Ashley successfully defended her dissertation and earned her Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction from West Chester University. She mentioned to Andrew that she wanted to return to campus on Memorial Day weekend to take photos in her cap and gown as campus was too crowed on the day of her graduation; Andrew of course agreed. Little did Ashley know, Andrew had something even more special planned. On May 26th, 2024, in front of the Phillips Memorial Building, Andrew proposed, and the rest is history.
