Believe it or not, Ashley and Will met via Plenty of Fish, an online dating website.
Ashley told her parents she was going to meet this man she met online, who lived in San Jose, her in Sacramento. Her parents strongly encouraged her to cancel, but she went anyway. They met at Pete's Restaurant and Brewhouse in Manteca (halfway point), and sat there for hours talking. After the restaurant closed and they had to leave, they sat in the car for another hour or so talking and listening to music. The rest is history!
Ashley and Will love music/going to concerts, baseball (Go Braves!), traveling, fishing, the beach, gardening, and making fun of their cat.
Their favorite trips have been Los Angeles to see the Braves play in the NLCS (playoffs) against the Dodgers (boooo), the Oregon coast (fishing, scenery, craft beer, and the best onion rings!), Fort Bragg, and Santa Cruz/Monterey when Ashley used to live in Sacramento.
Some of their favorite concerts: Reba, Teri Clark, Cody Johnson (3 times), Miranda Lambert (2 times together), Charlie Daniels Band, Aaron Lewis, Elle King (front stage), Golden Sky Festival, and Sunny Sweeney (🙄.. JK Ashley enjoyed 1/2 of the shows 😂). This is just a small glimpse into their concert list, and it will continue to grow as the years go on.
Ashley & Will love to fish. Him more than her these days because she loves her sleep 😂
Will fell in love with a dress Ashley frequently wore. It was salmon colored. Therefore, she has forever become his "Salmon".
During the early stages of their relationship, Will and Ashley frequently fished for striped bass. Sometime after “Salmon” became engrained in the couple’s everyday language, Ashley woke up one Saturday morning to find Will wearing one of his many light hoodies - this one featuring an aggressive amount of striping. Instead of ‘Good Morning’, she greeted him.. “Hey Striper!”. Sure enough, Will is forever her “Striper”.
They then began chasing each other around the house, giggling uncontrollably, any time either of them wore their respective Salmon or Striper attire, “catching” each other.
Neither of them wear their Salmon & Striper attire anymore because they've both seen better days, but they refuse to throw them out due to the memories.
