Our Story

The beginning of Ashley and I :)

During our annual training our battalion Chaplain hosted a bible study for the companies to join during the week. Ashley was in Delta Company and I was in Bravo Company. Before this study Ashley and I had never met in the 6 years of being in the Guard. That being said I am sure you can guess we both went to the Bible study and we met each other there. The study was good, it was a good time through the book of Nehemiah and a good time meeting new people in the battalion. After the study was over I was talking with a solider I had known before and was introduced to Ashley. She was a little nervous, smiley and very cute. We talked about her YWAM trip to Hawaii, Nepal, and Israel as well as our shared faith in Christ. We talked for a little while longer before parting ways for another week of training. After the week had passed another study came around, and again, we both showed up. This meant more time studying Nehemiah, more time talking with Delta Company and more time talking with the cute smiley Ashley. Again the time came to part ways and a few days later head back home. When I got home I wanted to download Instagram to upload a video of us blowing off charges in the field. I immediately noticed that Ashley had followed me and I immediately DM’d her. We started texting and after about a week I asked her on a date. The first date was a coffee shop and if I had known what I know now I wouldn’t of asked a non-coffee drinker out to a coffee shop, but she humored me and ordered a lemonade. It was a good first date of just getting to know each other a little better. We continued talking and then I asked her out again and again and again, you get the picture. We enjoy being outside, going on walks, reading scripture, praying, talking and asking each other a ton of questions. We talk about our faith, what we want to do with our lives, what a godly marriage is and looks like. She has become my best friend and she never fails to remind me that I am hers.

Thank you for reading our story. We want Jesus to have all the glory.
