Our Wedding

Patrick and Ashley met as dance partners in the musical “Footloose” in 2007. Neither of them were particularly talented dancers, but they survived the harrowing journey of late night rehearsals and last minute changes to choreography together. For two years, they would work on school theater productions together, and their relationship grew closer. After a few misadventures with subtle dates, they started to realize they had feelings for each other. In 2009, Ashley and Patrick went to her junior Homecoming dance together as dates, and they officially started dating. The relationship lasted for a year and a half, until they went their separate ways for college. Eight years later, Patrick returned home to Michigan, and the two of them rekindled the old flame. They have never regretted the time spent apart—it allowed them to fully grow as individuals before reuniting as adults. Ashley proposed to Patrick in Niagara Falls on July 14, 2022. She surprised him under the biggest full moon on a footbridge over the river. Patrick proposed back to Ashley on her birthday in 2024 after treating her to her favorite things: a three-story bookstore and an amazing dinner. On October 3, 2025, Ashley and Patrick will be saying their wedding vows—on the same anniversary they held as teenagers. They couldn’t be happier than they are with the knowledge that they get to spend the rest of their lives as best friends, surrounded by the most loving and supportive group of people.

Our wedding weekend is the same weekend as the UofM Homecoming football game. We were unable to book any hotel room blocks, but there are some close by hotels that may have single rooms available. If you want to book a hotel room, you should do so as soon as possible!
