Ashley and Micah met online in 2012.





Micah first sent Ashley a message to try to get to know her. Shortly after his first message, they began to message each other consistently. After phone numbers were exchanged, they were consistently texting and talking to each other on the phone. Every morning, Micah would send Ashley a "Good Morning Beautiful" text message, thus melting her heart. After talking and becoming friends over the phone for 3 years, Micah asked Ashley out. 





Ashley had just recently gotten a job with the airlines and thought there was not a better time than the present to do so. With every nerve in her body, she flew down to Louisiana. Ashley was texting her friends as she got closer and closer to meeting Micah. Her palms sweated and her friends told her that he was going to love her and she was going to be okay.





When Ashley arrived into Louisiana, she drove to the hotel were they were to meet. She checked in and received a text message that he was outside of the hotel. She walked out and saw him sitting in his truck. They stared at each other for about 5 minutes from across the hotel parking lot. He stepped out and stood in front of his truck and stared at her again. Finally, Ashley had gotten tired of staring at each other. She yelled at him from across the parking lot stating "what the heck are you going to do all day? Stay in your truck?" 





With laughter Micah walked over to Ashley and hugged her. 





From that moment on, it was history. 

How They Met

Over the years of talking and dating, Micah got to know a lot about Ashley's family. The biggest one being when her father, Keith was diagnosed with lung cancer. He supported and prayed&nbsp;with Ashley&nbsp;every time her father would end up in the hospital. They finally decided that if her father would take a turn for the worst, he would need to meet her father. Ashley's Father had always told her&nbsp;how much that would mean for someone to ask for her hand in marriage.

Ashley and Micah had discussed marriage before. She had explained that if he didn't marry her that would be okay, but if he could just ask to make his dream come true. Micah agreed.&nbsp;



When they flew to Minnesota, they found out that her father was admitted into the hospital for his cancer. Once they landed in Minnesota, Ashley and Micah rushed over to see Keith.&nbsp;



Micah kept telling Ashley how nervous he was and how he hoped Keith would give his&nbsp;blessing. Before Ashley could step out of the room, Micah asked Keith for Ashley's hand in marriage and explained the reasons for why he wanted to marry Ashley; he also promised that he would protect and care for her. Micah had just blabbed all the information out. Micah&nbsp;finally had paused to&nbsp;take&nbsp;a deep breath and wait for the answer.&nbsp;



It became silent for a minute. Micah and Ashley's hands were sweating as they&nbsp;held&nbsp;each other's. Finally Keith spoke. He not only gave his blessing, but explained how thrilled that he was to give it. The next day after Ashley got off of work, Micah explained that her father was picking on him; at which she had to explain that it was a good thing and that means he really did like Micah. That same day was also the day that they got the prognosis. About a month and half later,&nbsp;Keith&nbsp;would&nbsp;pass&nbsp;away.&nbsp;



Over the coarse of the next several months, Micah flew to Minnesota to care for Ashley and her family. Micah would also tell Ashley that she would get a real proposal because he wanted "to do it right."



In November, Ashley flew down to Louisiana to see Micah and to bring him back to Minnesota to celebrate her birthday. This birthday was dear to her heart as she was to spend it without her father for the first time.



(Background story: Ashley and her father, Keith shared this day for a good reason. At the time of Ashley's birth, Keith was in active duty in the Army. Keith had told Kristie (Ashley's mother) that was ever she was to do, was "to not have his kid on my holiday." Veteran's Day was a holiday that he had off with no duty or anything. He wanted to sleep in. Well, Ashley decided she wanted to be born on the one day he didn't want her to be born. So Ashley and Keith would share this day; her birthday and his Veteran's Day.) 



Micah and Ashley drove around Minneapolis meeting up with friends and family for her birthday. When Ashley, Micah and her family went out to dinner, he told her to dress nice. Dinner went through with no proposal. As they walked out of the restaurant, Micah took Ashley by the hand and started to sing their song as they danced in the hallway.&nbsp;

 



After dinner, Micah and Ashley went on a walk. So she took him to the Stone Arch Bridge to show him the night view of downtown. Micah began taking pictures left and right. When they got half way across the bridge, Micah pulled her hand. When Ashley turned around he was down on one knee and asked for her hand in marriage and she said yes!

Paul is Micah's brother. He's always been by Micah's side. The rumor is Paul is the smarter brother.

This little ball of energy is Charlotte. She has brought Ashley so much joy and happiness. She's auntie's princess pilot Darth Maul. Ashley couldn't think of a better flower girl.

Lance and Micah have been friends since kindergarten. Lance is loyal and has always been there for Micah .

Georgie is Ashley's sister in law. The two met in highschool and have been friends ever since. Georgie is nothing but pure  energy. She's one of those cheery early morning people that you might throw your coffee cup at.

Vincent and Micah have been friends since high school. They have enjoyed riding dirt bikes and 4-wheelers ever since then.

Bridget is a friend of Ashley's. They met when they were in middle school. The two have been through the good and bad together. She's a sweetheart, but don't make her mad.

June and Ashley met when they work for Massage Envy several years ago. June has always been that sweetheart with a bite. She is levelheaded and has been a cheerleader for the couple.

There are 3 airlines that fly directly into Lafayette Regional Airport. Delta Air Lines, United Airlines and American Airlines. We suggest those of you out of town try to fly directly into LFT airport. From there you can rent a car or take an Uber/Lyft to your hotel.

There has been blocks added for Friday & Saturday nights. It is located&nbsp;about a&nbsp;2 minute drive down the street to&nbsp;the ceremony and 10 minute drive to the reception venue.







Fun Fact:&nbsp; This is the hotel where Ashley and Micah first stayed at together! They know them by name!

There are&nbsp;multiple airlines that fly directly into New Orleans Airport.&nbsp;If you fly into MSY, you will need to rent a car and drive to&nbsp;Lafayette, which is a beautiful&nbsp;2 hour&nbsp;drive&nbsp;on I-10 West. Again, we suggest those of you who are from&nbsp;out of town to try to fly directly into LFT airport.&nbsp;
