Our Story

On a chilly February day in 2021, Jason and Ashley met during their first day of work at Thomas Moore Feed. Little did they know then how much their lives would forever change. They quickly bonded over their mutual love for Australian Shepherd dogs; Jason with his loyal companion Jax, and Ashley with playful Stormi. As the year went on, the friendship slowly started to blossom into something more.

That Summer, Jason went out of town to visit his grandparents and asked Ashley if she would dog-sit Jax, which she was more than happy to do so- any excuse to see & talk to Jason outside of work was more than welcome! They had their first date not long after that, and the relationship grew from there.

The next 2 years were filled with Astros games, A trip to Tulum, Mexico, weekends with Jason’s family in Alvarado, Texas, a couple of trips to visit Ashley’s Family in South Dakota, work events, Half marathon training and several friends weddings. Ashley & Jason found a beautiful house in College Station, and moved in together in August of 2022.

During a trip to Ashley’s family ranch this past July, Jason told Ashley he wanted to drive the Ranger around the ranch and try to take some pictures and videos with his drone; but little did she know that he really had something special in mind. After a failed attempt to find the “perfect spot” suggested by Ashley’s grandma, Ashley convinced Jason that they should go down to the river that runs through the ranch. Once they got down there Ashley was too distracted by trying to keep Stormi from chasing the deer into the river to even notice that Jason had hardly touched the drone and was fumbling around in his backpack. When he finally got her attention, he had a little black box in one hand, grabbed her hand with the other and asked, “Will you marry me?”. Through shock and tears, Ashley replied, “Lets do it!!”

(Jason still jokes that “technically, she never said ‘yes’”)
