David and Ashley’s love story began long before either of them knew what love really meant, while they were still young and attending St Edward (K-8) in Corona; barely paying each other any mind. Their families were friends, camped together, shared meals and milestones together, sharing the same faith.

As they got older, life took them in and out of each other’s worlds. In college, they shared a brief, sweet chapter of young love before life called them in different directions. David joined the Air Force, beginning a career that would take him across states and seas, driven by duty and adventure. Ashley followed her own calling, traveling the world in pursuit of her master’s degree and eventually becoming an Environmental Scientist with a passion for protecting the animals and places she loved to explore.

Through all the changes, their families remained intertwined—holiday greetings, shared memories, and the same church roots always keeping a quiet thread between them.

Years later, on one of David’s trips home, that thread pulled a little tighter. He and Ashley reconnected, first with familiar laughter, then with the unmistakable feeling that something deeper had been waiting patiently for its moment. What began as catching up quickly blossomed into a love both new and beautifully familiar—as if all the years apart had simply been leading them back to each other.

Even with David stationed in Florida and Ashley building her career in California, their love grew stronger across the miles. They found comfort in calls that stretched late into the night, visits that felt all too short, and the certainty that they had finally found their forever.
